Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2offers nostalgic skateboarding fans an opportunity to revisit two of the best games of the past 30 years. Few games have been able to recapture the magic of the earlyTony Hawktitles, so why not bring back the originals? It’s less than a month until the full games are released, but Activision’s decided to give fans a taste early. Starting Friday, August 14, a special demo ofTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2will be available for pre-orderers. Activision’s now provided a list of exactly what players can expect.

It’s being officially dubbed theTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2"Warehouse Demo." That’s because it focuses on one of the franchise’s most iconic levels, the Warehouse, from the firstTony Hawk’s Pro Skater. It’s about the purestTony Hawkexperience Activision can provide. Players will have two minutes to rack up as many points as possible within the Warehouse in Single Session mode. Combos will persist beyond the time cap, naturally. And once the time cap is hit and the session ends, players can press the reset button and play again as many times as they like.

The Warehouse demo will also serve as a demo ofTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2’s awesome soundtrack. A sampling of four different tracks from the final game’s eighteen will be included. The four chosen are listed as Billy Talent’s “Afraid of Heights,” Goldfinger’s “Superman,” Rage Against the Machine’s “Guerilla Radio,” and Tyrone Briggs' “Lose Control.” Of the eighteen, picking just four would be a challenge, but Activision and Vicarious Visions did a great job nonetheless.

Vicarious Visions also makes clear thatTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, as well as the demo, features more tricks than theoriginalTony Hawkgameshad. A list was even provided, including Manuals, Nose Manuals, Flatland Tricks, Reverts, Spine Transfers, Acid Drops, Wall Rides, Wall Plants, and Weddle Grabs and Backflips. Players will also be able to customize their “Special Tricks.” Tony’s 900 and Kickflip McTwist will be available, obviously, but so will Geoff Rowley’s Rowley Darkslide and Aori Nishimura’s Hardflip Backside Nose Pick.

The demo sounds like a great way to see just what’s changed inTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, as well as just how great the original idea of the game stands up in 2020. Unfortunately, not everyone is going to get to play it. The demo is available just for pre-orderers, as well as 2,000 Chipotle customers who purchased aspecial Tony Hawk’s burrito promotion. There’s plenty of time left to pre-order before the demo goes live, of course.

TheTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2demounlocks on August 14 at 8:00 am PFT. Both PlayStation and Xbox players can pre-load the demo starting now. PC players will have to wait for the release date to download via the Epic Games Store.
