All Confirmed Features For Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC
Of course, as the only major expansion that is set to come toCyberpunk 2077, thePhantom LibertyDLC is set to boast its own engaging narrative. Interestingly, CD Projekt Red has hinted at themes ofespionage being at the core ofPhantom Liberty’s narrativeand gameplay.
Fans will also be excited to learn thatPhantom Libertywill take them to a brand-newsector of Night City. This exact location has not yet been confirmed, although many fans are speculating that it will be the Pacifica Combat Zone. The Pacifica Combat Zone is a walled-off area of the main game’s map, being a highly-dangerous and geopolitically unstable area of Night City that would work perfectly with the confirmed espionage elements of the expansion.
Some original supporting characters will appear inPhantom Liberty, and the player will once again take control ofCyberpunk’s protagonist V. However,Phantom Libertyis confirmed to introduce a range of wacky new figures to Night City, some of which are a major pull-factor for the DLC. For example, one of themajor characters ofPhantom Libertyis Solomon Reed, an ISA agent played by Idris Elba. While more new characters will likely be confirmed in the coming months, other returning characters such as Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand are also confirmed to appear in the upcoming expansion.
A smaller new feature coming toCyberpunk’s Phantom Libertyexpansion is a fresh radio station for players to enjoy. While not a massive element of gameplay, music has always been an important aspect of the cyberpunk genre. The11 radio stations ofCyberpunk 2077’score storywere well-received by fans, who will be excited to have a broader selection of music in the upcoming expansion.
This new radio station will be called 89.7 Growl FM, and will contain up to 15 fresh tracks. The songs included in this station will be entirely community made, with CD Projekt Red having held a competition for what fan-made songs will be included inPhantom Liberty. This is a fantastic way to get the community involved in the expansion, while also giving back to a fan-base that has been through so much since2077’s release.
It is clear thatPhantom Libertyis setting itself up to be quite expansive, with its already-announced features spanning a range of gameplay elements. More will of course be announced in the near-future, but fans already have a lot to look forward to withCyberpunk 2077’s main expansion.
