[UPDATE: Respawn has confirmed the release date as May 17 and teased the new character. Original story follows.]
Right now, all eyes are onApex Legends’ new Season 13 Saviorscharacter Newcastle, the new Battle Pass, and everything brought in with the latest update. It all seems good so far, but it seems fans can expect even moreApexgoodness this week. A recent report suggests thatApex Legends Mobilelaunches on May 17 with a roster of ten characters, as well as one new character.

Previously, Respawn commented onApex Legends Mobile’s release dateduring a developer panel. It confirmed that the mobile title would release sometime this May, was built from the ground up for mobile, featured mobile-exclusive modes (and previously confirmed exclusive characters), and would feature 10 legends at launch.

In other words, everything pretty much lines up with this recent report from Tom Henderson. This should still be taken with a grain of salt, but Henderson has a reliable track record, making this more likely than other street rumors. According to Henderson,Apex Legends Mobilereleases on May 17 with the following characters:
Fade would be thefirstApex Legends Mobileexclusive character, and according to Henderson, he is called the Phasing Punisher. His kit gives him a speed boost at the end of a slide, the ability to flashback to a previous location through the Void, and his ultimate is called phase chamber—which sends all legends into the Void. His kit sounds like a more aggressive version of Wraith.
Henderson didn’t provide an image of Fade but describes him in a manner very similar toApex Legends' Revenant. He is human, though, and looks like a red and silver armored soldier with gold highlights. Some of the characteristics seemingly tie into his void abilities, and his face is covered by a mask resembling a red-armored skull.
Henderson expects this newApex Legends Mobileinformation to come directly from Respawn soon, as well as with a dive into Fade’s background and gameplay. Ultimately, it’ll be interesting to see how fans of the base game react to Fade. While exclusive game modes and characters are good for the mobile game, there have already been a few confirmedApex Legends Mobilefeatures fans have wanted in the base game, and if a new character really shakes up the meta, it makes sense that some fans would want him too.
Apex Legends Mobilereportedly launches worldwide for Android and iOS devices on May 17.
