Now,Baldur’s Gate 3has already rolled out this impressive update. Though not asabsurdly large as the firstBaldur’s Gate 3patch, Patch 2 is still huge, and makes tons of changes to reduce crashes and optimize performance. Patch 2 also improves the UI and controller accessibility, and adds new quality-of-life features for both solo and multiplayer gameplay.

Baldur’s Gate 3Patch 2 introduces Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends; a new feature that allows players to temporarily dismiss multiplayer characters if they want to play that save without their friends' Tav in the party. Additionally, new epilogue scenes have been added for Karlach, as well as some lines in Act 1 and 2 both as a companion or an Origin avatar. Save file size has been reduced, and managing old saves is easier. New filter and UI options make inventory and character management simpler, and optimization upgrades improve performance across the game, especially in Act 3, which hasrun poorly for many PCBaldur’s Gate 3players.

Karlach is the first of many epiloguesBaldur’s Gate 3is planning to expand upon. The endings of certain character stories have been some of the only criticismsBaldur’s Gate 3has received, so it plans on improving them to strengthen the game’s final act. Larian developers have already teased bringing some actors back into the studio to record more lines, so players can look forward to seeing more satisfying epilogues for otherBaldur’s Gate 3Origin characters in the months to come.

One of the most impressive things about Patch 2 is that it has come a week after Patch 1, which itself arrived only a few weeks after the game’s launch. ConsideringBaldur’s Gate 3also had several hotfixesduring that time, it is clear Larian Studios is committed to making sure its new CRPG provides the best experience possible to all players.
