Modern Warfare 3’s final Open Combat Area mission will see players step into the shoes of fan-favorite character, Simon “Ghost” Riley, in an attempt tofind and diffuse four chemical bombsscattered in the mission area. While the general area of each bomb location is marked on the player’s tac-map, players must search each location to find exactly where the bomb is hidden and defuse it, all while hiding from or fighting through Konni soldiers.
In addition to progressing through the mission, defusing the bomb being transported on the truck in the proper timeframe and without being detected canaward playersthe Hitchhiker achievement or trophy.

Bomb Locations
The first bomb is located in C-4 near where Ghost BASE jumps from. Searchthe bunker in C-4and head to the back room to find the bomb. Becautious of the claymore minesset up through the bunker, along with armored Konni soldiers. Once the bunker is clear interact with the bomb to defuse it.
The second bomb is locatedin D-6, on the catwalk underneath the dam.Approach the catwalk for the West, taking the staircase in C-6 down towards the area. There isa sentry turreton this platform that guards the catwalk, come up behind the turret and use the interact button to hack and disable the turret. Once on the catwalk,head to the second alcove on the leftto find the bomb and defuse it.
The third bomb is locatedin F-5 under the main bridge underwater.The bomb can be hard to see underwater, dive as low as possible to improve visibility while swimming through the pipes under the bridge and players will quickly find the bomb.
The final bomb is located on theback of a truck that is in transit at the start of the mission. Players can either intercept its path and attempt to defuse it without alerting nearby forces (keep in mind if enemies off the truck spot youthe truck will stopand the enemies inside will exit the truck and begin attacking) or wait for the truck to reachits final destination in the G-2 grid pointnear the weapon supply crate.If players can get on the truck silently and defuse the bomb without being detected and stopping the truck players can earn a trophy on PlayStation or an achievement on PC or Xbox.
How to Get the Hitchhiker Achievement/Trophy
If players are attempting to complete the trophy objective for the mission Gora Dam, they will want togo for the truck bomb first- the truck will only drive for a short period at the start of the mission before parking permanently and players lose the ability to complete the achievement without restarting the mission.BASE jump and head to the right, looking for the winding road justpast the compound with the bunker in C-4.Aim toland on the truck or just behind itbefore it reaches the compound, providing enough time to hack and defuse the bomb and get off the truck before any enemies become aware. Players also need toensure a smooth landing if landing directly on the truck- cutting the chute and falling too far will create enough noise to alert the Konni soldiers in the truck causing them to come to an immediate stop.
Land properly and defuse the bomb before being noticed and the Hitchhiker achievement or trophy will be completed.
