Joe Cecot, a co-design director on the game, used some interesting words in responding to a player’s tweet. He specifically said that he loves “to inspect these weapon challenges.” As other players have reportedly found evidence of being able toinspect weapons in theModern Warfaregame files, this comment further pushes the idea that Season 5 will introduce the feature.
Fans of recentCall of Dutytitles will recognize the feature that allows the player to turn their weapon sideways in order to better see it. This is mainly used for streamers and people recording videos in order to get a good look at their weapon’s camo and attachments. Although it plays no part in actual gameplay, it is a small detail that many have come to enjoy. This tease comes not long after after data mining revealed the possibility of theCall of Dutyfavorite R700 sniper riflecoming toModern Warfareas well.
No official release for this feature has been announced, but the timing of the tweet would suggest that it will come along either at the start of Season 5 or in a mid-season update. Withthe recentModern Warfareunlimited gun glitchthat players have been trying out in games, it is unclear if the weapon inspection will still be usable or only restricted to two weapons at a time.
Whether players enjoy this feature or think it is a silly addition, the fact thatModern Warfarecontinues to get these sorts of updates shows how much Infinity Ward cares about the game’s success. With the next Season of updates almost here, fans are eager to see what the future of the game holds for them.
