Any popular multiplayer game has to battle with cheaters, especially a free-to-play title as large asCall of Duty: Warzone. There have been all kinds of cheats thatCall of Duty: Warzonethat players have had to contend with, and now cheaters are gaining access to equipment that isn’t even normally present in the game.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s persistent battle with cheaters has had a lot of highs and lows, with theCall of Dutyteam even recently offering an update on itsplans to combatCall of Duty: Warzonecheaters. While there are impressive statistics, like nearly 500,000 players being permabanned from the game, cheaters seem to keep finding ways to work around Activision’s anti-cheat efforts.

The newest cheat sees people using night-vision goggles. While the equipment is present inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, whichCall of Duty: Warzoneis built upon, there is no non-cheating way to get access to night-vision goggles inCall of Duty: Warzone. The cheat first started gaining attention when streamer Stephen “Yungstaz” Galloway posted a clip to Twitter of a cheater automatically pinging enemies on the map before pulling down night-vision goggles. The cheat is a bit puzzling, however, asCall of Duty: Warzone’s map is always set during the daytime, meaning that there is no advantage in using the goggles.
In a second tweet to follow, Galloway talks with the cheater, who reveals they have been cheating inCall of Duty: Warzoneon that account for five months. Another instance of the night vision goggles was posted to the game’s subreddit by user PerfectEfficiency8. That clip shows a player using an obvious aimbot before equipping the night-vision goggles, after which they die and then disconnect the entire lobby. In this particular case, the player is level 686, leading some fans to wonder just how long theyhave been able to cheat inCall of Duty: Warzone.
The lack of advantage given by the night-vision goggles seems to point to cheaters using them as a way to brag about their ability to cheat so openly in the game. WhileCall of Duty: Warzonehas devoted resources to catching cheaters, it still has a persistent problem that seems to make cheaters feel comfortable being brazen about what they’re doing. Hopefully, developer Raven Software can find a solution to the cheating issue before they start ruining the enjoyment of honest players tacklingCall of Duty: Warzone’s upcoming eventsand new content.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
