However, along with news aboutCall of Duty:VanguardandWarzoneupdates, Raven Software also announced that the currentWarzoneis going to be adding a ranked mode. Many players have been asking for a ranked mode for a long time so that the game would reward players for their skills as well as match similarly skilled players together. Considering that other titans of the Battle Royale industry, such asApex LegendsandFortnite, also have ranked modes, many players will be happy to hear this change is coming.
Adding a ranked mode inWarzoneis a huge change to the game, especially if the matchmaking is tailored towards players of similar skill levels. Creating a system of matchmaking will ensure highly skilled players are separated from newer or more casual players, allowing everyone to play at the level they desire. Though it may notseparateWarzoneplayers based on their setup, the game mode is a step in the right direction, especially because players have been asking for it.
For the ranked mode to succeed, Raven Software still needs to clean up some of the game’s issues. Bugs and glitches are still prevalent in the game, such asWarzone’s buy station glitchand a glitch that turns enemies and objects invisible. Hackers are also an ever-present issue, with the latest hack involvingWarzone’s Rebirth Island and flying vehicles knocking helicopters out of the air. With these issues and many others still pervading the game, it would be best if Raven Software cleaned them up in time for ranked mode.
Regardless, adding a ranked mode and other changes toWarzonewill certainly be a good addition to the game. Players will be matched against those of equal skill rather than pros, and pros will be matched up against others that provide them with a constant challenge. Time will tell whether this change affectsWarzonelong-term, but for the near future, the game is headed in a positive direction.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
