Remarking on his Burberry scarf, McGregor praised the earlyEA Sports UFCgames while throwing the newest iteration under the bus. McGregor referred toEA Sports UFC 4as “garbaiste” which translates to “garbage.” It’s worth pointing out that McGregor was one of the cover athletes forEA Sports UFC 2, so it’s possible he may be a tad biased.
McGregor shared the cover ofEA Sports UFC 2with Ronda Rousey, who remains one of the most famous UFC fighters of all time. Since retiring from MMA, Rousey has focused on her home life and competing in WWE. Rousey is currently the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion and was one of the first women to ever main event WrestleMania, so it’s safe to say that she has enjoyed a great deal of success in professional wrestling.
After sharing theEA Sports UFC 2cover with Rousey, McGregor would be featured by himself on the cover ofEA Sports UFC 3. TheEA Sports UFC 4cover athletes were Jorge Masvidal and Israel Adesanya. That particular game launched in 2020, and no new entry in the franchise has been announced at the time of this writing, so it’s anyone’s guess as to who the next cover athlete may be.
As far as McGregor’s insult goes, it’s worth pointing out thatEA Sports UFC 2,3, and4all had comparable reviews from critics with 77, 78, and 77 overall ratings, respectively. TheoriginalEA Sports UFCgamewas actually the worst-rated of the bunch.
EA Sports UFC 4is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
