ADestiny 2fan has successfully recapped the entirety of theDestinyuniverse’s story in a single, albeit truly massive, video. Over the years, Bungie’s designers and developers have worked hard to create an interesting, engaging, and authentic media universe, the centerpiece of which have always been theDestinyvideo games. Content sunsetting, however, has been the biggest problem the community has had with this approach.
Notably, whileDestiny 2no longer sunsets expansions, huge batches of the game’s seasonal content still end up getting removed once a new DLC comes out. This means that newcomers and players who are generally interested in lore don’t actually have proper access to it in a meaningful sense, which is a huge issue for long-term engagement.

Destiny 2fans have tried their best to alleviate the problems caused by sunsetting from the very start with various separate, unofficial projects, but the sheer scope of theDestinynarrative makes this an immense task. Keeping that in mind, YouTube creator Evaze may have just put out the biggest, most comprehensive narrative summaryDestinyhas had yet. The video, which clocks in at just under four and a half hours, contains all the important story beats. Viewers can expect to learn about everything from the billions of years' worth of known Hive history all the way to the events of the latest seasonal content, according to Evaze.
While Bungie has finally set out tomakeDestiny 2less FOMO-reliant withLightfall, the simple fact remains that huge batches of the game’s content are entirely unavailable at this time, and the developer hasn’t made up for this problem in an official manner. This means that the job has fallen upon content creators such as Evaze to compensate for what some consider to be the developer’s biggest failure with theDestinyfranchise.
In fact, many believe thatDestiny 2should bring back sunsetted campaignsat the very least, as these are big story beats that set the stage for years' worth of narrative development as a result. This, however, doesn’t appear very likely to happen anytime soon, as Bungie has yet to chime in about any such ideas.
There is some good news on the horizon, thankfully.Destiny 2is getting the Exotic mission rotatorin Season 22 of theLightfallDLC, and Bungie seems intent on featuring some of the game’s most important and memorable content through this new UI node. This, combined with the availability of legacy Raids such as the Vault of Glass, means that some of theDestinyIP’s brightest moments will live on after all.
Destiny 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
