Summary
There are plenty of shells available forDestiny 2players to give their Ghosts some flair, but one player has gone a step further by creating a real-life Ghost shell, taking inspiration from the main villain of 2023’sDiablo 4, Lilith. Plenty of shells already exist in the game, taking cues from the universe’s many enemy races and major villains, including theHive god Savathunand the slick-talking Eliksni pirate Spider. While crossover content isn’t new to the series, this player’s creation shows what is possible if Bungie decides to create more than cosmetic armor sets to reflect aFortniteorAssassin’s Creedpartnership.
While players have been able to swap out the basic white Ghost shell since the originalDestiny, options were much more limited back when the universe was just getting off the ground. Players who had pre-ordered the original game’s collector’s edition unlocked the Frontier shell, and it was the only alternate shell in the game until the launch ofThe Taken Kingexpansion. Since then, Bungie hasn’t been shy about adding more and more options for players to choose from, with several hundred to choose from inDestiny 2as of Season of the Witch.

One artistic player took it upon themselves, though, to create their ideal Ghost shell in real life based on the daughter of hatred herself, Lilith, who served as the main villain ofDiablo 4. Reddit user LGESM is the one behind this creation, showing just what a Ghost paying tribute to thecreator of Sanctuarywould possibly look like. The biggest giveaway is the horns protruding from the back of the Ghost which are almost a one-to-one match for Lilith’s own demonic horns, while the custom base appears similar to one of the spells Lilith or one of her followers would cast.
LGESM’s creation was met with largely positive feedback from other users, with consistent praise for the amount of detail put into the Ghost shell. Some players even commented that the design was so good, that they thought it was rendered in a computer before seeing a picture of the Ghost being held by LGESM’s hand. Others argued that the shell is proof Bungie should do a crossover withDiablo 4, akin to the PlayStation,Fortnite, andAssassin’s Creedcosmetic crossoversdone in the past.
Along with a potential crossover, the shell is just another reminder of how many artistically talented members of theDestiny 2community there are. A quick search online can find any number of detailed drawings along with life-size replicas of popular exotic weapons such as the Thorn andThe Last Word. It would not be surprising to even see LGESM create moreDestiny-centric creations in the future as well.
Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
