Summary
Xur has returned again toDestiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Week 2 of Festival of the Lost has seen a few changes from Bungie to help players continue progressing. A recentDestiny 2 update made Eerie Engrams easier to earnwhen playing through the normal Haunted Sector playlist. Players looking to potentially earn more Lost Mementos now have better odds with Eerie Engrams dropping more often.
For now, fans continue to offer feedback on how to further improve the Halloween-inspired event, with manyplayers asking Bungie to make masks available within the transmog feature. As it stands now, players are required to equip a mask into their helmet slot in order to earn candy, which isn’t ideal for those wanting to use an exotic helmet. With transmog, they could still get the benefits of wearing a mask, while keeping the perks and stats from the currently equipped helmet.

In addition to Festival of the Lost, Xur is back again with a whole selection of exotics and legendaries forDestiny 2players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of Jul 08, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Over the next few days, Xur is located inside the Tower Hangar.
Fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Winter’s Guile - Warlock gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Warlord’s Sigil - Defeating targets with melee attacks increases player melee damage. Targets encased by Penumbral Blast automatically shatter.
An interesting roll for this exotic with two big spikes for Resilience and Strength, though at the cost of everything else. It’s a melee specific exotic with a bonus to Shadebinder Warlocks, so it’s likely only going to impact specific builds, which makes it hard to recommend, especially with such a chaotic stat distribution.

Young Ahamkara’s Spine - Hunter gauntlets
Wish-Dragon Teeth - Increased Tripmine Grenade duration and blast radius. Gain Tripmine Grenade energy from ability final blows.
This exotic was a recent target of a nerf fromBungie for the Destiny 2 midseason update, making it much harder to counter in PvP. While the roll on this is pretty good, it’s a hard exotic to recommend these days following the nerf and how specific it is for tripmine grenades only.

Peacekeepers - Titan leg armor
Mecha Holster - Reloads stowed Submachine Guns and allows the player to ready them instantly. Improves handling with Submachine Guns and movement while wielding one. Provides a moderate benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Submachine Guns.

As the description reads, this exotic is only effective when using SMG weapons, so for players that don’t use some of the stronger options like Osteo Striga, this is an easy pass this week.
Stat Values (67 total):
Exotic Weapon
Unlike most other grenade launchers in this class, The Prospector canfire its rounds as a fully automatic weaponby holding down the trigger. Its exotic perk is called Excavation which lets players hold the trigger to fire the grenade and then release it to detonate all live grenades simultaneously. In addition, grenades can stick to surfaces and set targets on fire.
Naturally, this weapon allows players to blanket large areas with grenades before detonating them all at once. It can be a little unruly with the full auto system, but once players get the hang of it, it can lay some serious damage on enemies. Although it may not be at the top of the heavy meta these days, this weapon can be fun to use and is worth the shards for those who don’t have it.

Hawkmoon Rolls
At this point,Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
