Overcookedhas already celebrated its 5th birthday, and to mark the cooking-sim’s milestone, Ghost Town Games released a free update forOvercooked! All You Can Eaton PC and consoles in August of 2021, in honor of this anniversary.
The collection contains the firstOvercooked,Overcooked 2, and all the DLC for both games—and it allows players to interact cross-platform with each other. However, those that own the original version ofOvercooked 2might be wondering ifAll you’re able to Eat’s crossplay feature is available on their version of the game.

This appealing package brings spruced-up visuals, new content, and fully-integrated online support for both Overcooked romps. And what’s more, this release also brings vastly expanded cross-platform play; an addition that surely warrants a revisiting and update of this piece.
What Platforms Is The Game On?

Thebase gameofOvercooked 2still only has very limited crossplay. Those playing onSteamand theEpic Games Storecan play together on PC with up tofour players.However, console users on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch are not able to playOvercooked 2cross-platform with friends.

Untilrecently the family-friendly titlewas not crossplay enabled on any platform, but it received an update whengiven out for free on the Epic Games Store. However, the free giveaway and crossplay support initially created problems for the PC version, and a rollback was needed to make the PC versions playable with friends again.
However, with the release ofAll you may Eatcomesfully-supported cross-platform playat long last. This means that not only can gamers playing onSteamand theEpic Games Storeplay together on PC (with up tofourplayers), but console players can now play with those on other consoles and PC. This is available forall levelsincluding co-op instory levels.
Other Important Crossplay Information
Keep in mind, this universal crossplay only applies toAll you may Eat, while the originalOvercooked 2retains only limited crossplay amongst PC gamers.
Overcooked 2is a game that is best enjoyed with friends, so those wanting to take advantage of the co-op fun will have to upgrade to themore accessibleAll You Can Eatedition to play with friends and family on other platforms. As a side note: Cross-platform settingscan be switched offin the game settings if players so choose.
Game Pass
Overcooked 2players onGame Pass PCcannot play with their PC friends. TheOvercooked! All You Can Eatversion is not included with the subscription service, and the original game does not have full cross-platform support on Microsoft’s Store. Reportedly, friend invites are also not currently supported for online play in the Game Pass version.
SinceAll You Can Eatis currently not available for Game Pass players, the included version doesn’t have all the features that come with this, including crossplay. This also applies to theSteamandEpic Games Store.

Other Ways To Play With Friends
Overcooked 2can be enjoyed locally with up to four people, as long as there are enough controllers to go around. The game also includes a feature that lets two people control two different characters with one controller. Switch users already have two controllers with the Joy-Cons, so this feature is unfortunately not included with the Pro Controller or Switch Lite.

Players can evencombine online and local co-opto play with those in the same household as them, and with friends elsewhere. Two players can take part in a split-screen game with one or two others online.
Can Save Data Be Transferred?
While multiplayer has been made more flexible in terms of connectivity, the same is not true for save files. AlthoughAll You Can Eatuses remastered versions of the first twoOvercookedtitles, it’s still separate software, which meanssave files from the original two games won’t carry over.
Additionally, save files arelocked on the specific platformthat gamers play on, and can’t be transferred from one to another.
