When speaking withPreston Garveyduring The First Step quest inFallout 4, you can choose the Corvega Assembly Plant in Lexington as the location of the gang of raiders harassing him. He will then task you with ridding this location of the raider gang and killing their leader, Jared.
As a reward for slaying him, you will loot the Corvega Safe Key, which provides you with the gang’s loot stored in their hideout. However, knowing how to get to Jared’s body, loot it, and find the well-hidden safe can be tricky. Here’s where to find the Corvega Safe so you can loot it.
Where to Find the Corvega Safe in Fallout 4
To find the Corvega Safe key inFallout 4, you’ll need to head into the room with the two turrets where Jared is located. After slaying Jared, look for the staircase on the left side of the room that will take you to the platform where Jared’s body is located. However, you will find yourself stuck due to a massive gap caused by a retracted bridge. There is a button on your right that you’re able to press to extend the bridge and close the gap. In addition, you can also make the jump across the gap if you are sprinting and time it just right.
After extending the bridge or jumping across the gap, you’ll need to loot the Corvega Safe Key off theraider banditleader’s body. Once done, head back down to the main floor using the staircase you used before. Next, descend to the bottom floor of the room, turn left and head back towards the back wall underneath the platform above. Look for a blue wooden board with “Keep Out” painted white. This board is located directly below the platform where you looted Jared’s body. The Corvega Safe is behind the blue wooden board on the right-hand side.
Don’t worry if you left the area because you were sick of looking for the Corvega Safe or a way across the gap to loot Jared’s body. If you head back, his body will still be in this room. You can still loot the Corvega Safe Key, and you’ll be able to find the safe as expected.
Here’s an important note regarding the Corvega Safe Key and another similar key called the Corvega Storage Key you can find inFallout 4to avoid confusion. The Corvega Storage Key is a key you will obtain by slaying Gristle. You’ll find this safe in a different area called the Corvega Storage Space.
