Final Fantasy 14just announced the dates for the 2023 and 2024 Fan Festival–its largest live event. After being forced to hold a Digital Fan Fest in 2021,Final Fantasy 14is returning to reality with in-person events starting next year.
Final Fantasy 14’sFan Festival is a huge event that features panels, major announcements, and concerts. Like most previous ones, the Fan Fest will be split into three events–one in Las Vegas in late July 2023, another in London in late October 2023, and the final one in Japan in early 2024. Tickets are not currently available for purchase, but they will likely start going on sale early next year.

In addition to being its largest live event,Final Fantasy 14’sFan Festival has historically been where it has revealed the game’s new expansion packs. FollowingFinal Fantasy 14’scurrent patch schedule, players expect the new expansion to release sometime in early 2024, meaning the three fan fests would be perfectly placed to reveal progressively more information, building up to the final release.
The previous Fan Fest was originally planned to be an in-person event when it was announced in early 2020, but theCOVID-19 pandemic forcedFinal Fantasy 14to cancel the event. Later in 2021,Final Fantasy 14held its first and only Digital Fan Festival instead, which focused on theEndwalkerexpansion. Rather than the three events across North America, Europe, and Japan, the 2021 Digital Fan Festival was a singular event.
Players are excited to get the chance to attend theFinal Fantasy 14Fan Festival in person once again. WhileFinal Fantasy 14was popular during its last live events in 2018 and 2019, it has received an unprecedented amount of players since theoverwhelming success ofShadowbringersandEndwalker. Due to the ever-expanding player base, the 2023-2024 Fan Festivals promise to be the most highly-attended events inFinal Fantasy 14’shistory.
However, some fans have concerns aboutFinal Fantasy 14going back to live events. TheCOVID-19 pandemic is not truly over, so many hopeFinal Fantasy 14forces players to wear masks at the venues to prevent the Fan Festival from becoming a spreader event. The Fan Festival has always been packed, and with an even larger population now than ever, many players will be clamoring to get their tickets to the events. Hopefully,Final Fantasy 14can help make sure its players are safe and healthy as they celebrate the next chapter of the critically-acclaimed MMORPG.
Final Fantasy 14is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
