Square Enix is an aggressive merchandise provider andFinal Fantasy 14is one of the best examples of this.Final Fantasy 14figurines, plushies, jewelry, and clothing are just the start of Square Enix’s offerings. Other merchandise includes shoulder massage sticks, fanny packs, bath mats, tissue box covers, and even wine glasses. Now, Square Enix is taking the next logical step forward. The company recently announced plans to release aFinal Fantasy 14-branded wine inspired byEndwalker’s new Reaper job class.

TheFinal Fantasy 14wine is being made in partnership with The Prisoner Wine Company, a northern Californian winery. It’s technically not a new wine created just forFinal Fantasy, but rather features a bottle of The Prisoner Wine Company’s popular red blend The Prisoner. However, the bottle of red wine is packaged in an exclusive box featuring art ofFinal Fantasy 14’s Reaper jobstanding in front of the moon on one side and the quotation “THIS IS OUR FUTURE OUR STORY” on the opposite side.

The limited-edition wine officially went up for pre-order on December 17 with a scheduled delivery window after June 08, 2025, and it is already listed as back-ordered on Japanese retailer Mood Mark’s website. The price for the wine is a decent ¥12,100, which converts to just over $106. That’s a notable markup over a normal bottle of The Prisoner, which is available elsewhere for $49. TheFinal Fantasy 14brandingand some exclusive art is apparently well worth over 100% markup to many fans.

There are some reports thatFinal Fantasy 14’s wine collaboration was also available at the IsetanFinal Fantasy 14Pop-up Shop. The pop-up shop, which features all manner ofFinal Fantasy-themed foodand merchandise, was open between December 8 and December 14, so it’s now closed down. Attendees were said to be able to buy the limited-edition wine when they visited.

For those hoping for an opportunity to buy the wine, there may be one last opportunity. It’s said to be released onSquare Enix’s website eventually, at least via the Japanese storefront. Wine-lovers orFinal Fantasy 14fanatics should probably ensure their account information is set to go via the JapaneseFinal Fantasy 14website just in case The Prisoner comes back into stock.

To repeat, there isn’t anything specific about the wine itself that ties intoFinal Fantasy 14, theEndwalkerexpansion, or the new Reaper job. Square Enix’s involvement extends only to the art and the box that the wine is sold in. However, it likely goes wonderfully with thoseFinal Fantasy 14wine glasses.

Final Fantasy 14is available now on PC, PS5, and PS5.
