Fire Emblem Engageis the newest chapter in a long line ofFire Emblemtitles. Players gain the ability to use famous characters from previous games as battle companions through the use of Emblem Rings. When players wake up, they are informed that they are the Divine Dragon, a hero that’s been sleeping for more than 1,000 years. This is when the gang realizes that the main character has no memories, and they have decided to return them to their mother, the monarch of the land. This is when the game begins.
Getting Through the Prologue: The Emblems
The prologue ofFire Emblem Engageis the tutorial. Players are introduced not only to combat but also to the Emblem system with their first companion,Marth, who is a character that appears in manyFire Emblemtitles. The most important part of the prologue is to choose whether to be a male or a female protagonist and their name.

Thankfully, gender no longer limits which characters a player can romance;Fire Emblemhas loads ofLGTQ+-friendly romance options. However, there will be platonic- and flirty-only options and some romanceable options. Either way, regardless of what gender players choose, they will be able to hit on whatever characters they will want. Here is a list of romanceable options in the base game ofFire Emblem Engage.

Chapter 1: Awake at Last Walkthrough
After some cutscenes go over the story thus far, players will find themselves in their first real combat situation. Framme and Clanne will move out of combat, inching away from this fight. After three combat turns, more enemies appear from the north. Vander will remain where he was left, and Alear auto moves into combat. This fight is pretty simple, and players of every level will be able to complete it without much trouble, especially with Marth’s help.
After the fight is complete, verify to have a chat with all the party members, then head on to Chapter 2 ofFire Emblem Engage.
