TheFortniteleaked files list many abilities that would prove the game mode is “infected.” Abilities like “Increased Movement Speed,' “Double Jump,” and “Infected Landing” make it appear thatFortnitewould be following the blueprint for a fun infected mode. There have beenrumors about an infected modeinFortnitesince the start of Season 2. Now, with even more files hinting at the future game mode, it is only a matter of time before it is released.

Fortnitewill possibly add the infected playlist to the “Save The World” mode based on various quotes gathered in the data files. The quotes reveal instructions for both survivors and infected, which could indicate that NPCs may be able to infect players. Not much is known about how the game mode will work aside from abilities, however,Fortnitehas a very large map so the infected game mode could limit the player lobby, or possibly increase the speed of the circle.
