He asks the Traveler to visit the renownedChef Mao in Liyuefor recommendations on what recipe might embody a “boom-shaka-laka” feeling.

Teleport to Liyue and swing byWanmin Resturarantto speak with Chef Mao. Chef Mao will contemplate his old rival’s request, and there’s adialogue option that mentions Xiangling’s cooking creativity. It isn’t necessary to select this dialogue for the Secret Achievement to trigger (it does provide a bit of context regarding Xiangling’s whereabouts). Since Xiangling is busy picking bamboo shoots inQingce Village, Chef Mao asks for Jueyun Chili and Fowl to resolve the dilemma himself.
Here’s whereGenshin Impactplayers should deviate from instruction for the Secret Achievement: instead of retrieving the ingredients,seek out Xiangling’sexpertise. The key is to find Xianglingbefore speaking to Xudongagain. For those who accidentally exchange the ingredients with Chef Mao before encountering Xiangling, the Achievement is still possible – she won’t disappear until closing out the Commission with Xudong (or Daily Commission reset).
Xiangling is locatedsouth-west of Qingce Villageclose to the teleport point. She’ll be standing under a lamp surrounded by bamboo shoots. Speak to Xiangling and to receiveher special tempura techniquevia an inventory item called “Xiangling’s Handwritten Notes.”
Travel back to Inazuma.Speak to Xudongand he’ll inquire about Chef Mao. The opportunity to share “Xiangling’s Handwritten Notes” will appear, prompting players to select the item. Xudong will remark upon Xiangling’s appetizing Whopperflower Nectar, Flaming Flower, andElectro Cicin wing powder recipeand thank the Traveler. This completes the Commission and players receive the standard rewards along the “Boom Shaka-Laka, More Boom-Shaka-Laka” Secret Achievement.
Unfortunately, if players failed to interact with Xiangling before Xudong, there’s no direct way to restart the quest without it randomly appearing during Daily Commissions. Players can increase their chances of receiving “The Gourmet Supremos: Breakthrough Thinking” task by setting their Daily Commission region preferences to Inazuma.
