Genshin Impactis set to feature two new domains as a part of the map expansion to Sumeru’s desert coming in Version 3.6. The newest region in the popular HoYoverse RPG has already seen multiple expansions since players first came to Sumeru in Version 3.0. The Version 3.1 update saw the introduction of the sprawling Hypostyle Desert, later expanding with theDesert of Hadramaveth region being added in Version 3.4. Now, Sumeru’s playable desert is set to grow once again with the game’s next patch.
The upcoming Version 3.6 update, set to debut next month, has already seen multiple leaks revealing the newest content coming toGenshin Impact. Version 3.6 will feature the next addition to the desert region of Sumeru, expected to introduce both a new Archon Quest and the return of a popular sub-quest. The next update will also feature two new characters added toGenshin Impactin the long-awaited Baizhu and Kaveh. Now, new leaks have revealed a pair of domains featured within the desert expansion.

A recent leak fromGenshin Impactleaker Timing has revealed two new domains set to debut in Version 3.6, each appearing to be an “Adventure” domain featuring Primogem rewards. The Fragrant Inland Sea will appear in the southeast region of the new desert offering 40 Primogems, a flower fromthe “Desert Pavilion Chronicle” artifact set, and a collection of Sumeru’s Talent books. The Sin-Cleansing Spring in the northwest will feature similar rewards, swapping out the Desert Pavilion Chronicle flower with a feather from the same set.
The two new permanent domains have been joined by multiple leaks of one-time sub-areas set to appear duringGenshin Impact’s Version 3.6. New five-star character Baizhu will be receiving a Story Quest during the update, featuring a brand-new domain much likeGenshin Impact’s past Story Quests. Recent leaks have also shownanother mysterious location with a cosmic setting, leading many to believe the area may be connected to Sumeru’s Irminsul.Genshin Impact’s Version 3.6 is currently expected to launch in mid-April.
WhileGenshin Impacthas often created stunning new locations for its many story-based domains, the limited use of these domains has often seen negative fan feedback. Fans have been critical ofGenshin Impactfor its limited-time events, with both story elements and new areas inaccessible after the event’s conclusion. Some events like Version 1.1’s “Unreconciled Stars” have even featured major new story additions and character introductions.Genshin Impact’s newest domains will add more unique locations for players to explore when they launch in Version 3.6.
