A newGenshin Impactleak shows a couple of in-game screenshots taken from a new region that will arrive in update 3.8. Since Sumeru officially arrived in 3.0, the game has been adding new parts of the map approximately every two updates.
Genshin Impactversion 3.6 has introduced two new sub-regions named Gavireh Lajavard and Realm of Farakhkert which are part of the famous Sumeru desert. Both of these expansions contain tons of new content including new quests, NPCs, and enemies. It seems like HoYoverse plans to introduce one new sub-region before the official arrival of the fourth major region, Fontaine.

Recent leaks have been hinting at a new part of Teyvat that should arrive in the upcomingGenshin Impactversion 3.8. A new post on the popularGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit has revealedimages of a new sub-regionthat players will be able to access in the next update. While HoYoverse is yet to officially confirm this region, fans speculate that it will be a limited region, similar to the new parts of the map that arrived during the Golden Apple Archipelago events back in updates 1.6 and 2.8. However, unlike the archipelago that was part of two previous GAA events, it seems like the new limited region will look much more like Sumeru’s rainforest.
Another set ofGenshin Impactleakshas revealed that this limited region is named Penumbra. The Golden Apple Archipelago is one of the main annual events inGenshin Impactwhich introduces tons of new content. The first GAA was arranged by one of the most legendary characters in the game, Alice, also known as Klee’s mother.
This is one of the two events in the game that always introduces new outfits for some of the units on the playable roster. During this Summer-themed event, players can explore a limited region and meet several characters from the roster whilecompleting a set of simpleGenshin Impactquests.
According to another set of leaks, the Pyro user Klee will receive abrand-new outfit inGenshin Impactupdate 3.8and many fans suspect that Alice could finally make an official appearance in the game. However, the fact that there are still no leaks about Alice’s appearance has led many players to believe that Alice’s official arrival is reserved for another update in the future.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
