New leaks fromGenshin Impact’s Version 4.0 have revealed a pair of weapons set to be added with the introduction of the Fontaine region. While HoYoverse is gearing up forthe official release of Version 3.8of the massively popular RPG next week, leaks have already begun to tease plenty of new elements coming from the following patch. Version 4.0 is expected to introduce the game’s fifth major region, Fontaine, along with plenty of new characters and mechanics. Now, a pair of weapons featured in the update are being teased.
While characters are often the primary focus ofGenshin Impact’s newest updates, weapons also play a major role in the gameplay of the RPG. Each new character added to the game comes with their own signature weapon, typically catered to be optimal for that characters' particular playstyle.Genshin Impacthas also introduced a variety of four-star weapons to suit many of the roster’s niches, both adding weapons through the gacha system and through in-game events. Now, a pair of F2P-friendly weapons from Version 4.0 have seen their appearances revealed.

A new batch of leaks shared by prominentGenshin Impactleaker Tao via fellow leaker videre has revealed the appearance of two new Fontaine weapons. The weapons both feature a similar technological aesthetic with aClaymore boasting serrated chainsaw-like bladesand aPolearm affixed with a drillat the tip. The weapons are both said to be craftable within the game’s newest region, meaning players can acquire them without needing to utilizeGenshin Impact’s gacha system. Players can create the weapons by acquiring their recipes and going to one ofGenshin Impact’s in-game blacksmiths.
Both of the new Fontaine weapons are set to add even more options forGenshin Impactplayers not looking to spend money on in-game weapons. Craftable weapons within the RPG tend to come in sets of five with one craftable weapon of each type typically added with new regions. Leaks from the game have hinted at some of the premium weapons available with Fontaine’s launch as well, including thesignature weapon for five-star Bow character Lyney. Fontaine’s release will also likely add new four-star weapons to the game’s gacha pool, following trends set by previous regions.
With Fontaine’s release still over a month away,Genshin Impact’s newest region has already seen plenty of major details about the Hydro Archon’s domain leaked. Early reveals from Version 4.0 have shown off multiple locations throughout the region, including asmall Fontaine fishing village players will visit. Rumors have also suggested the region may break fromGenshin Impact’s traditional regional structure with two major cities in Fontaine, rather than the typical one. Fontaine looks to have plenty in store for players when the newest region arrives later this year.
