Genshin Impacthas released a new piece of official art to celebrate the Eastern European Maslenitsa Festival, featuring a popular character from the game’s Snezhnaya region. The massively popular RPG from HoYoverse has often featured new and exclusive art to celebrate a variety of holidays around the world. Past art from the developer hashonored festivities like the Thai Songkran Festivaland the Lunar New Year among others. Now, the newest art from HoYoverse honors a festival held throughout Eastern Slavic countries.
While not much has been revealed yet aboutGenshin Impact’s northernmost region of Snezhnaya, players have already gotten a teaser of what to expect from the frigid region. Snezhnaya is said to be inspired by the landscapes of Russia and, particularly, the Siberia region with perpetual blizzards and hostile conditions. Players have already met multiple characters hailing from Snezhnaya with the game’s primary antagonists, the Fatui, hailing from the region and one playable character from Snezhnaya. Now, Snezhnaya’s Tartaglia takes the spotlight in a new art fromGenshin Impactcelebrating the Maslenitsa Festival.

The newest update fromGenshin Impact’s Russian-language Twitter account shares a special art piece of Tartaglia and his brother, Teucer, for the Maslenitsa Festival. The art depicts Tartaglia preparing a crepe for his younger brother, featuring other pastriesinspired byGenshin Impact’s Ruin enemies. Maslenitsa, also known as Crepe Week, is a week-long holiday celebrated in several Eastern Slavic countries including Russia and Ukraine during the last week before Great Lent.
Genshin Impact’s celebratory art for Maslenitsa also comes as one of the first official depictions of a location within the Snezhnaya region. While Snezhnaya has featured heavily throughoutGenshin Impact’s story, particularly through the Fatui, players will still be waiting a while before traveling to the frigid north of Teyvat. Snezhnaya was previously introduced as the final ofGenshin Impact’s seven main regions players will travel to, with the arctic locale likely not debuting until 2025. Little information outside the Fatui has been revealed about Snezhnaya aside from itsconnection with Katheryne and the Adventurer’s Guild.
While the release of Snezhnaya looks to be several years away, players likely won’t have to wait long forGenshin Impact’s next region. The France-inspired region of Fontaine, home to the Hydro Archon, is expected to debut sometime during 2023.Fontaine is said to be highly technologically advancedand has already seen numerous references throughout the game, with the in-game Kamera said to be created in Fontaine.Genshin Impact’s Maslenitsa art serves to both celebrate the holiday and get fans excited about the future ofGenshin Impact.
