Summary

Helldivers 2reviving missing features from the original game is already a promising trend that, if followed, could take the franchise to all new heights. Even so, there are a few areas of the game whereHelldivers 2could arguably stand to improve in the meantime of adding entirely new content, one such feature is the recently added exosuits.

Thenew exosuits inHelldivers 2are already immensely powerful weapons, mixing a lethal amount of offensive capabilities with superior survivability. However, future updates forHelldivers 2should arguably consider looking at exosuits from another popular game,Titanfall 2, to improve their functionality.

How Helldivers 2 Could Improve Its Exosuits

Considering all of thecontentHelldivers 2is missing from the originalHelldiversgame, the newly added exosuits, vehicles, and other weaponry arriving inHelldivers2’s Cutting Edge Warbondwill already close this gap by reviving a significant amount of content. Even though it will be satisfying to see more and more returning content make its way intoHelldivers 2, bringing back certain features without any changes or improvements between the two games is a missed opportunity. However, it’s not too late forHelldivers 2to add improved functionality to the new exosuits in future updates.

While it makes sense that the exosuits inHelldivers 2are still only designed for use by one player at a time, some of thesupport weapon Stratagems inHelldivers 2incorporate a clever and satisfying layer of cooperation that would be nice to see more of. For example, the autocannonweapon comes with a backpack that another teammate can wear to help the player wielding the gun reload faster, even though both the gun and the backpack can be operated by a single player if needed.

Unique Titanfall 2 Features That Helldivers 2 Should Adopt

One such way thatTitanfall 2allows multiple teammates to interact with a friendly Titan is by allowing players to ride on a Titan’s shoulders. This isn’t always the safest position to be in, but since Titans have much faster movement than players on foot, this is a quick way to get around while also giving teammates a high-ground vantage point.

Another way thatTitanfall 2allows players to interact with friendly Titans is the ability to retrieve and deposit batteries. Much like the exosuits inHelldivers 2, Titans inTitanfall 2generally have no innate ways to heal themselves, which is where batteries come into play. By taking a battery from a hostile Titan, players can slot this into a friendly Titan to replenish its health and shields. Being able to sneak up onAutomaton Hulks inHelldivers 2and eliminate it by removing a battery or similar power source could be a risky but fun way forHelldivers 2to implement this kind of feature. Otherwise, demolished exosuits scattered around the map could also be a potential source of batteries.

Aside from the unique ways that players could cooperate to interact with friendly Titans inTitanfall 2, another unique feature would also be nice to see inHelldivers 2, which is known as Nuclear Ejection. True to its name, Nuclear Ejection is a perk that players can use to enable a massive explosion when they dismount their Titans. As fun as it is to kill Terminids and Automatons using drop-pods orexplosive Stratagems inHelldivers 2, being able to dismount an exosuit with an explosive finish could be a satisfying way to dispose of an exosuit that is either close to dying or has run out of ammo.
