A helpfulValheimfeature that allows solo players access without an internet connection is something that fans believe other games could learn from. Iron Gate Studios continues to evolve on the foundations ofValheimwith regular updates, and some fans have noticed a key solo feature that is being applauded by much of the community.

As it’s still in early access,Valheimis regularly patched with bug fixes and new content, with the latest drop including acreative mode inspired byMinecraft.Valheimplayers regularly play with others as they make elaborate structures, explore the landscape underneath the world tree Yggdrasil, and defeat powerful bosses like The Elder. Reddit user Jstranz123 recently shared a post that has garnered the attention of manyValheimplayers as it shines a light on an important feature. According to Jstranz123, playingValheimsolo doesn’t require access to online servers like most other modern multiplayer experiences often do. Celebrating the solo feature, Jstranz123 stated that it’s “about time” a mostly online game doesn’t require an internet connection to have access to the in-game world whereValheimplayers often make incredible buildsin.

Because many games need players to be connected to the internet, there are server problems that have resulted in backlash from fans that overlook the requirement. For example, during thebeta testing phase forDiablo 4, players were getting error codes like 300202 and 30008, which were associated with a server connection suddenly dropping and preventing them from logging in. While several fans expressed shock at theValheimsingle-player mode and its capabilities, one player recommended turning Steam to offline mode to access more games in their library without needing an internet connection.

Given thatValheimdoesn’t need to go online in order for players to explore the worlds that they’ve already created, server errors andshutdowns like theDiablo 4oneswill never interrupt the experience. Although manyValheimfans suggest that this solo mode should be applied to more online games, some developers use an always-online requirement to implement anti-cheat measures.

Valheimis available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
