Chikorita became a frequent mention in that thread, and soon many others on the platform began jumping to the Leaf Pokemon’s defense. Many users brought up the grass starter’s average stats or weaker movepool, while others rallied behind fond memories of traveling through Johto with the second generation Pokemon, thestarting Pokemon’s personality, or its cute appearance.
