Rumors have been circling aroundLegend of Dragoonpossibly getting a remake ever sinceBluepoint Gamesposted a very cryptic tweet that may have hinted at a new project. However, for players eager to get back to the PS1 classic, but might not have a working system or old copy of the game to rely on, there still is a way to head back into the world of Endiness.

Jumping back intoLegend of Dragoonwill require a PSP or a PS3 though, as a number of the PlayStation Classics haven’t been ported to the current generation yet. With a new generation emerging in a year’s time, it’s likely that an update that would make the game playable on PS4 likely won’t be coming anytime soon.

The game is available to purchase for $5.99 USD on the PSN to be played on either the PSP or the PS3, the previous generation of PlayStation handheld and home systems. At this point a PS3 shouldn’t be too hard to find, but with even PS Vita discontinued, it’ll be hard for players to get their hands on a PSP.

No matter which console players choose to return toLegend of Dragoonwith, it is well worth the effort, especially for first time players. It is possible that the vague tweet from Bluepoint could mean any number of games coming back, fromDemon SoulstoCastlevania, so the original version ofLegend of Dragoonmay be the only way for players to enjoy the game again. So pop out those old systems and boot up one of the best JRPGs from the PS1, and maybe introduce some friends to the world of Endiness. Hopefully, the hotly requested remake will see the light of day sometime in the future, because ifFinal Fantasy 7andResident Evil 2&3can do it, then so canLegend of Dragoon.

For the sake of full disclosure, it should be mentioned that it is possible to emulateLegend of Dragoonas well, but that cannot be suggested for legal reasons and for the health and safety of player’s computers. Stay away from sketchy downloads.
