Sukuna’s Domination In the Shinjuku Showdown Arc

Sukuna showcased what he was truly capable ofin the Shinjuku showdown Arc. Here, fans got to see Sukuna at his very best, starting with his battle against Gojo Satoru. Fans know that Gojo is a magnificently powerful individual who only a handful could take on in battle. Dubbed as the strongest modern sorcerer, it was incredibly difficult for anyone to even scratch Gojo, let alone defeat him. Sukuna, being the strongest sorcerer in history, had his work cut out for him when he faced Gojo in battle, and yet, he did incredibly well, not only going toe-to-toe with him, but dominating in large phases of the battle.

You were magnificent, Gojo Satoru. I shall never forget you for as long as I live.

Still, these two sorcerers were largely even, and thanks to having access to the 10 Shadows Technique using Megumi’s body, Sukuna was able to eventually get through Gojo’s Infinity and chop him in half. Much to the surprise of the fans, Gojo, who, at the time, was utterly dominating the battle, ended up losing, and from there onwards, Sukuna continued the battle with others with great intensity.

Following Gojo’s death, Sukuna was weakened quite a bit, however, he was still standing. The Sorcerers joined the fight one after the other, but none were strong enough to topple him. That said, the protagonist of the series, Yuji Itadori, was one that continued to get back up again and again. There are other powerful sorcerers who left a mark on this battle too. The likes of Higuruma, Yuta, and Maki, among others, showcased what they could truly do in the battle, and it was phenomenal for the fans to see. However, Sukuna cut them up one after the other, with only a few individuals left standing on the battlefield right now. Still, as the battle drags on, Sukuna’s weaknesses are becoming more apparent, and it appears that he will, after all, end up losing this showdown.

How The Sorcerers Weakened Sukuna

Every Sorcerer Did Their Part To Weaken Sukuna

Despite the vast majority of the sorcerers losing to Sukuna, they did end up weakening him greatly in one way or another. Of course, the vast majority of the work wasdone by none other than Gojo Satoru. Gojo Vs Sukuna was very close and the former could even have won the battle if luck was on his side. However, he ran out of luck when Mahoraga provided the perfect blueprint to Sukuna for surpassing Infinity. Gojo ended up losing the battle, but Sukuna was worn out by this point in time. He had his brain fried by Gojo’s Unlimited Void, and as a result, his domain was no longer accessible to him. At the same time, his reverse cursed technique was also weakened tremendously, which meant that he couldn’t heal properly. He could also not access domain amplification, and that meant Sukuna was fighting at less than half of his true power.

As the fight continued, Sukuna certainly did improve as he reincarnated into his true form. However, he was still getting weaker during the fight against Yuji. The vast majority of the work was done by the protagonist, as his punches weakened Sukuna’s soul and reduced his cursed energy output, weakening him greatly. Other powerful individuals, such asYuta, also made great advances in the battleand weakened Sukuna in some shape or form.

The output of his base slashes is increasing too!! – Maki Zenin

Maki, who rejoined the battle, stabbed Sukuna’s heart and made sure that the sorcerer had to make his heart beat manually in order to stay alive on the battlefield.

All the sorcerers put together caused a lot of complications for the King of Curses, and every single contribution that they made was absolutely necessary, and, at the same time, significant. Had it not been for their contribution, the pathway to defeating Sukuna would not have opened up as it has right now.

Yuji’s Awakening and Sukuna’s Downfall

Yuji Awakened New Powers To Finally Beat Sukuna

Yuji Itadori will be the one to defeat Sukuna, and it appears to be more likely than ever before now, as the King of curses is weakening with each passing chapter. Even though he hit four powerful black flashes that restored his cursed energy output, and at the same time, likely aided his reverse cursed technique as well, Yuji’s punches have continued to land, which means that he is also losing his cursed energy output drastically with each hit. More importantly, Yuji just landed a powerful barrage of Black Flashes on Sukuna, which is sure to have weakened him tremendously and lowered his cursed energy output as well.

At the same time, fans know for sure that Yuji’s newly awakened powers will make an amazing difference in the upcoming chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen. Yuji has awakened his true potential, and from here onwards, he will be a completely different monster in the face of battle. His awakening means that the final phase of the battle against Sukuna has now kicked started, and that Yuji will be a completely different opponent for the King of Curses. This awakening does not put Yuji on Sukuna’s level, however, given that Sukuna is weakened tremendously right now, andYuji has just gained a massive power up, he will most likely be able to hold him off in battle.

Where his defeat did not appear to be likely at one point in the story, now, it appears that Yuji’s awakening might just have tipped the scales in his favor, and from here onwards, he will go on to finish the job and beat the King of Curses once and for all.

Of course, defeating Sukuna is not an easy task for anyone, and Yuji will still face many complications, despite awakening new abilities. That said, at the very least, fans know that the gap between these two individuals has been reduced severely now, and that Yuji will most likely continue to deal some significant damage to him to showcase what he is truly capable of in his awakened state. As such, Sukuna’s defeat is very likely at this point in the story. Furthermore, fans already know thatJujutsu Kaisenwill be wrapping up later this year, which means that not long is left in the story now. Taking into consideration that the author will most likely also tackle the aftermath ofthe war against Sukunaas well, the battle against the King of Curses has to wrap up sooner rather than later, which means that Yuji will have to get the job done in this final fight in the upcoming few chapters.
