Frontier Developments has also served as the developer of theZoo Tycoonseries of games since its inception and took over the development of theRollerCoaster Tycoonseries in 2003 when the original game was ported to Xbox. However, theJurassic World Evolution games have been the two biggest financial hits for the company, with the first two games in the series marking the top two moneymakers in terms of sales across their first two years. TheJurassic World Evolutionseries shares somesimilarities toZoo Tycoon, in that players are tasked with creating and running a dinosaur-centric theme park for visitors to enjoy, but it includes other aspects such as sending paleontologists to dig for fossils and altering DNA to make the dinosaurs hardier and healthier.

As announced on May 9, Frontier Developments revealed that fans can expect to seeJurassic World Evolution 3become available between June 07, 2025, and July 31, 2025. The company aims to release a new creative management simulation game every year and has released fourgames that let players build a theme parksince 2016 —Planet Coaster,Planet Zoo,andthe other twoJurassic World Evolutiongames. “Our Jurassic World Evolutiongame franchise has showcased great creative and technical expertise in CMS games and the strength of our select, develop, launch, and nurture strategy in the genre,” CEO Jonny Watts said in a press release, adding that he looks forward to sharing more information as it becomes available.

The developer seems to be banking on the success of the upcomingunnamed film in theJurassic Worldseries, currently set to hit theaters on Jul 16, 2025, to drive the success of its next game. The announcement from Frontier Developments makes note of the upcoming film, which was announced in February and is rumored to have attracted the attention ofJohn Wickproducer David Leitch for the directorial role. With the film being mentioned in this way, it’s possible the game’s release will be happening closer to the start of that rather broad release window.
