Despite the reputation it earns from its story, theKingdom Heartsseries has some of the best Action-RPG gameplay around. There are certainly a few non-traditional titles in the series, but the traditional ones are all very fun to play through.

As good as a game’s main playthrough might be, though, the best games have a host of content for players to tackle once the credits roll. TheKingdom Heartsgames are fairly consistent on this front, offering everything from collection challenges to juicy boss fights that push players to their limits. So for anyone looking to sink their teeth into one of these titles, these are the ones with the best bundles of post-game content.
7Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance
Dream Drop Distancewas originally released on the Nintendo 3DS, but a HD remaster is included in theKHcollections, allowing it to be played on modern hardware. The game has an interesting setup, with players swapping between both Sora and Riku, who have their own versions of the game to complete.
Once both are completed, though, a decent amount of content is unlocked. Each world’s final boss gets a powered-up rematch, and players can also face off against the superboss, Julius. Since these have to be completed for both characters, the overall package has some decent meat to it.
6Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded
Re:Codedis one of the more interestingKHtitles. It was originally a remake of a Japanese phone title for the Nintendo DS. Unfortunately, it only appears as a cutscene collection in theKHcollections, so can only be played on its original hardware.
It does have a lot of unique gameplay mechanics of its own and a decent post-game. After the credits, some optional areas are unlocked that offer a good challenge. Players also have the option to replay the game’s several genre-shifting sections, some of which haveadded challengesto overcome.
5Kingdom Hearts 0.2
Unlike the other titles on this list,KH0.2isn’t a full game. It was originally a part ofKH3but was made into its own self-contained adventure to give fans an early taste ofKH3’s new engineand help flesh out Aqua’s story. Despite its small size, it has a better post-game than some of the full titles.

The main meat here is in the zodiac challenges. Once the game has been beaten once, chests will appear containing 12 zodiac relics. Collecting them will unlock a challenging boss rush that ends with a fight against the superboss version ofPhantom Aqua. This fight is one of the hardest in the series, especially due to0.2’s more limited moveset.
4Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep (Final Mix)
While it can’t hope to live up to the esteem of the numbered titles,Birth By Sleepis one of the bestKHgames and is thankfully available on modern consoles in a playable state. Like the numbered titles, it got a ‘final mix’ version that added a host of content that is best tackled in the post-game.
Most of this content can be found in the ‘mirage arena’, which hosts optional battles for players to take part in. Particularly, there are boss fights against Monstro, Eraqus, and No Heart, who are all tough battles in their own right.
A secret boss can also be found in The Land of Departure known as Unknown, who is actuallyYoung Xehanort. This is the hardest challenge in the game and takes a while to finally conquer.
3Kingdom Hearts 3 (ReMind)
Back in the days before DLC was commonplace, certainKHtitles would have updated releases that fleshed out their content and story. Instead of that,KH3has the purchasableReMindDLC that adds a host of new post-game challenges.

BaseKH3already had several challenges to complete, including forging the Ultima Weapon and beating various battle gates.ReMind,however, adds an entirely new story segment, showing the steps Sora took to rescue Kairi after the final battle and fleshing out several characters.
It also adds in solo rematches against the true Organization 13, as well as a superboss that teases the future of the series, just likeKH1andKH2had. These boss fights are extremely challenging but show off just how funKH3’s battle system is and are a blast to figure out and take down.
2Kingdom Hearts (Final Mix)
As the first game in the series,Kingdom Hearts 1didn’t have the most post-game content on its initial release. However, with the release ofKingdom Hearts Final Mix, this was remedied. And thanks to the collections,KHFMis available on modern hardware.
While it’s unlockable before the credits, most players won’t be able to handle the hades cup until afterward. It contains a grueling 49 matches for players to fight through. Upon completion, it also unlocks a match against Sephiroth that will be more than a challenge.
KHFMalso includes other secret bosses like Phantom and Kurt Zisa that are better saved for the post-game. And finally, the superboss Xemnas is the game’s ultimate challenge, being even tougher to beat than Sephiroth.
1Kingdom Hearts 2 (Final Mix)
Last, but certainly not least,KH2 Final Mixis famous for having a lot of content packed into it. The original release ofKH2was somewhat limited in bonus content, butFinal Mixadds in an impressive amount, including some of the best content the entire series has to offer.
The main trifecta of post-game tasks starts with the ‘mushroom 13’ challenges that reward Sora with a new keyblade and a crown. Following that, a new path in Radiant Garden can also be found that leads into the ‘Cavern of Remembrance’, a challenging post-game area that tests both combat and platforming abilities. This area eventually gives access to the Garden of Assemblage, which includes superpowered versions of the entire Organization 13.
Lastly, like all the majorKHtitles,KH2FMhas a superboss in the form ofthe Lingering Will, which will likely take several hours to beat itself but is so satisfying to finally take down.
