Alongside the follow-up, theLife is Strange: Remastered Collectionwas scheduled to hit shelves on September 30,reimagining Max and Chloe’s seminal story with upgraded visualsand animations.

As revealed via a statement on the franchise’s Twitter account earlier today, that’s no longer the case, with theLife is Strangeteam announcing it’s postponing the remaster’s release until early 2022. With plans originally seeingTrue Colorsand the re-release launch within the same month, the post reveals the delay will help “alleviate any additional pressure on theLife is Strangeteam,” giving the devs extra time to work on and launch theRemastered Collection.

However, September 30 is still set to be a big day forLife is Strangefans. Alongside the announcement of the delay, the statement also revealed thatLife is Strange: Wavelengthswill be filling the empty spot left by the remastered collection. Previously announced as a prequel chapter toTrue Colors,Wavelengthwill focus entirely on Steph Gingrich, a returning character fromLife is Strange: Before the Stormand one of the key players inTrue Colors’story. Deck Nine confirms it’ll be airing a trailer for the add-on tomorrow, which will likely offer a closer insight into its narrative.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with Square Enix’s latest announcements,Life is Strange Remasteredlooks to be a significant overhaul of the franchise’s first outing. Not only will it feature all of its DLC, including Deck Nine’s acclaimedLife is Strange: Before the Stormchapters, but it also comes with enhanced visuals, new animations, refined puzzles, lighting upgrades, and more.

As forTrue Colors,it’ll be the next mainline entry in the franchise, offering a new story following a death in the secluded town of Haven Springs. Players will take on the role of the victim’s sister, Alex, who has a secret power that allows her to read the emotions of those around her. Players will have to dig into the secrets of Haven Springs' residents anduse Alex’s supernatural abilities to uncover the truthbehind the death.

Unlike previous iterations of the series,Life is Strange: True Colorswon’t release episodically, with the entire game launching on September 10. Developer duties have also passed from Dontnod Entertainment to Deck Nine, seeing it take the reins on its first mainlineLife is Strangeproject following its work onBefore the Storm.

Life is Strange: Remastered Collectionis set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S during 2022.
