Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2updates its playlists of available match types all the time, but a recent decision to remove the Shipment 24/7 playlist from the game has greatly upset franchise fans.Shipmentis one of the oldest and most popular maps in franchise history, first appearing inCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfareand then reappearing in various otherCall of Dutygames over the years.
Shipment returned with much fanfare in the2019Call of Duty: Modern Warfarereboot, earning a great deal of praise from fans but also heavily criticized for its spawn issues and other problems. While there’s always a certain amount of jank to Shipment due to its extremely small size compared to otherCall of Dutymaps, many fans enjoy how quickly it allows them to get into skirmishes, complete challenges, and level up their guns.

It was no surprise when Shipment joinedCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer mode with the Season 1 Reloaded update, and many fans were happy to see it back. They also appreciated the inclusion of the Shipment 24/7 playlist, which allowed them to play exclusively on the fan favorite map. Unfortunately, the latest update to theModern Warfare 2playlists has seen Shipment 24/7 get the boot, replaced by Shoot House 24/7 and the Control game mode.
Shoot House is another popular map, first introduced in the aforementionedModern Warfarereboot. But whileShoot House is plenty popular, its popularity pales in comparison to Shipment. As a result, many fans have expressed outrage online about Shipment 24/7 being removed and being replaced with Shoot House 24/7. Judging by the reaction online, there are many who simply want Shipment 24/7 back as a permanent playlist, but others have suggested a potential compromise.
Since Shipment and Shoot House were two of the most popular maps in the 2019Modern Warfaregame, the developers cooked up a special Shoot the Ship playlist that combined the two together. It seems there are many who would be much more tolerant of Shipment 24/7 leaving if it were replaced byShoot the Ship, but it doesn’t seem as though there are any plans to bring that playlist back at the time of this writing.
While this is disappointing news for traditionalModern Warfare 2multiplayer players, there’s some good news forWarzone 2players with this latest playlist update at least.Trios is back inWarzone 2, so groups of three no longer have to stick to Mini Royale or teaming up with randoms in Quads.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
