A Super Mario Sunshine LEGO Set
It may be the odd one out compared to a lot ofMario’s 3D adventures, butSuper Mario Sunshinehas too many colorful locales to not be translated into LEGO bricks. If a LEGO set based onSunshinewere to follow a similar structure as64’s, the best centerpiece would be Delfino Plaza and its Shine Gate. Then, the set could offer miniature versions of Pinna Park’s rollercoaster or the imposing Corona Mountain. The set could also include microfigures for Mario’s F.L.U.D.D. pack andBowser Jr.as a way to celebrate his first appearance.
A Super Mario Galaxy LEGO Set
Super Mario 64may have revolutionized 3D platforming with its thrilling gameplay and camera controls, butSuper Mario Galaxytook that formula and put one of the most creative spins on it to date. Few could have expected Mario in outer space to work so well, but it has since become such an iconicMariogame that it’s deserving of a LEGO set. The enormity of the Comet Observatory would begreat in LEGO form, and microfigures based on Rosalina and the Lumas would tie everything together. AMario Galaxyset could even throw in references toSuper Mario Galaxy 2for fans that were disappointed by its absence inSuper Mario 3D All-Stars.
A Super Mario Odyssey LEGO Set
Nintendo has experienced an unprecedented level of success with the Nintendo Switch.Super Mario Odysseybrought the plumber that fans know and love to a whole new level, adding a layer of adventure to theSuper Mariofranchise that’s never been seen before. While encapsulating that reputation in LEGO form may be hard, a set based on the game could recreate anything from the Odyssey airship to the picturesque New Donk City. Withanticipation building for a potentialSuper Mario Odyssey 2, a LEGO set based on the Switch game could get a lot of love from fans.
Nintendo’s partnership with LEGO has been successful so far, and at this point there’s no telling what new sets could come in the future. Many fans were already impressed by theLEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, and thisSuper Mario 64set looks like it could be just as impactful. If there was any question as to how Nintendo was fairing in markets outside of the video game industry, thisSuper Mariocollaboration should put any concerns to rest.
