Need For Speed: Unboundshares many of the same characteristics of the other games in the series: high-energy races, exhilarating and over-the-top cop chases, and a highdegree of customizationthat makes every car unique to the player. These traits have made theNeed For Speedgames stand out from other arcade racers, making them iconic. Much like many games in the series,Need For Speed: Unboundis an open-world racer as well. Players can get lost in the world, and immerse themselves in a fluid manner, which can makeNeed For Speed: Unbounda pretty good open-world game justlike its peers.

SinceNeed For Speed: Unboundplays a lot like the otherNeed For Speedgames, players will have an easier time adjusting to this new take on the series, which can get them into the world quicker. But, while it plays the same, players will still make the same mistakes that they have made in the older entries. If they correct themselves by checking out this list, they’ll have a great time playingNeed For Speed: Unbound.
5Relying On Nos Too Much
Need For Speed: Unboundhas a heavy focus on Nos, meaning most of what players do will have something to do with using Nos. While players should certainly use it, since it’ll help them get out of hotspots, they should also be a little conservative with it. Because if players overly use Nos, they will always need it, and when they don’t have it, they’ll have a difficult time getting through races or cop chases.
Much like inNeed For Speed: Heat, where cop chases are prevalent throughout the game, the same can be said forNeed For Speed: Unbound.Outrunning cops is one of theeasiest waysto get rid of them and gets even easier if players have a supply of Nos they can use. While Nos can refill, it’s always a good idea to have some ready to use for situations that call for it. This way, players can be more dynamic with how they play, they won’t need Nos as much, and that can make them better drivers overall.

4Using One Car
TheNeed For Speedgames are known to have a wide selection of cars, and as the years go by, the more diverse these cars become, meaning the games have cars that can drive on different terrains like off-roading.Need For Speed: Unboundis the same, it has anexpansive car listthat players can spend a long time going through, and this gives them an unlimited amount of options. However, much like the older games in the series,Need For Speed: Unboundhas cars that are great, and cars thataren’t so much, so it’s worth their time to experiment with the cars they get.

At the start, however, there aregood cars players can use, but after a while, they should look for an upgrade. If players use one car throughout the majority of the game, they’ll have a hard time doing things during the later sections ofNeed For Speed: Unboundbecause all cars have limits on how much they can be upgraded. So if players immediately get in the newest car they have, they’ll always be getting better and better. Since each car has a different feel and performs well for something different, this can help players adapt faster if they use a number of cars rather than just one.
3Don’t Combo
This is a mechanic that can make races and cop chases pretty easy to do. In races, players can draft behind a car in front of them to get a small speed boost, to overtake them then they can use a little bit of Nos to get some distance. This will quickly refill the Nos meter, and also allow players to race more aggressively. With cop chases, this can help quite a bit. Players can chain near misses, then go into a drift and easily get away, making the heat level of the player go down.
Players may not do this as much because it requires them to race based on speed, but rather strategy. If they do this and take this way of driving online, they can become a threat. Winning more races becomes tangible, and cop chases at heat level 5 become easier to do. It just makes players better racers overall.

2Not Spending Money
Need For Speed: Unboundhas a ton of ways for players to make money but also has ways for them to lose it all. SinceNeed For Speed: Unboundhas a lot of the same mechanics asNeed For Speed: Heat, players who know about that game, will have an easier time doing this for the latest entry. Spending money is crucial, and so is saving it, but what matters is when and how to spend it. Much likeNeed For Speed: Heatwhich allowed players tosell the carsthey don’t need, this is evident inNeed For Speed: Unbound.

But much like the older game, if players get caught with a heat level 5, they can lose a large chunk of that money. So if players are always spending money by buying and selling cars, or by getting upgrades, they won’t need to worry about this as much. But on the other hand, they should spend money when it’s best to do, which should be often.
1Only Focusing On Speed
Each and every car inNeed For Speed: Unboundshows its stats which include, handling, braking, acceleration, and top speed. All of these areas are upgradable, however, players may want to make their car fast, or they may want to get one ofthe fastest carsin the game. While they can have those cars, and race with them, they’ll notice those faster cars suffer in other areas which they need to in order for them to reach such speeds.
SinceNeed For Speed: Unboundis a racer that’s based in a city, which has tons of tight corners, twists, and uneven roads, having a car that’s fast won’t mean as much. It’s usually a good idea to get a car that can be upgraded to the highest degree in all areas, that way the car is more balanced. In a lot of cases, speed doesn’t account for much, handling does play a bigger role for these types of racers. So, players should always look at the other areas they can upgrade before looking at the speed of the car because a well-balanced car will give them more than just a speedy getaway.

Need For Speed: Unboundis available now on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
