Summary
Lords of the Fallenupdate 1.1.598 is now available for download. This release introduces balancing changes toLords of the FallenPvP multiplayer, on top of debuting some bug fixes, stability improvements, and UI tweaks, among other novelties.
The sequel to the CI Games' 2014 ARPG of the same name,Lords of the Fallenwas released to mixed reviewsin October 2023. The game has received over two dozen patches since then, many of which were focused on multiplayer balancing tweaks and minor fixes, although some also ended up introducing new content.

The latest such release arrives in the form of patch 1.1.598, which is the 30thLords of the Fallenupdateto date. This release packs nearly three dozen changes, including a new set of PvP balancing adjustments that the developer Hexworks says should improve one’s overall multiplayer experience. The biggest of those tweaks arrives in the form of a flat damage multiplier reduction from a factor of 0.5 to 0.25. Halving the bonus damage will obviously result in longer matches, which Hexworks confirmed was the goal. Elaborating on that point, the developer explained that it came to the conclusion that the average time-to-kill in PvP multiplayer was at odds with “optimal combat,” needlessly robbing players of opportunities to trade blows.
On a similar note, the developers doubled the stab PvP damage multiplier for all weapons except for the Ultra Greatswords, which have received a 25% increase. Hexworks says it’s hoping that this change will help establish stab attacks as a bigger part of theLords of the FallenPvP meta. At the same time, the developer nerfed Harrower Dervla’s Crossbow, reducing its overall damage output by 66% in order to disincentivize its use and consequently boost the playing style variety in PvP. Additionally, Hexworks used this patch as an opportunity to rebalance a number of spells and reduce the status effect buildup multiplier by 25%, with both of those changes being exclusive to PvP.
The 1.1.598 update also makes somechanges toLords of the Fallenbosses, like fixing a bug that occasionally allowed the Hushed Saint to knock players out of the arena. The Sundered Monarch fight should also perform better following this patch, with Hexworks revealing that it introduced some optimizations to its level streaming process that are specifically aimed at making this fight smoother. The developer added a similar set of tweaks geared toward improving performance across Skyrest Bridge.
In terms of general bug fixes, the latest version of the game introduces 20 of them in total. Based on Hexworks' established track record, it’s likely thateven moreLords of the Fallenupdateswill keep coming throughout spring.
