A couple of years ago, rumors were swirling about Microsoft potentially having amassive E3 2018 press conferencethat would have included world premieres for its biggest franchises. Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference didn’t deliver on most of the rumored games, but the rumors have persisted, and one old rumor in particular may paint a pretty good picture of the announcements fans will get to see at the Xbox Series X July 23 event.
This leak comes from notedXbox insider Klobrille, who made the claims on ResetEra all the way back in 2018. Many assumed that Klobrille was saying that the games mentioned would be announced during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference, but the thread in question was actually about the future of Microsoft’s games in general. It’s possible then that these projects, assuming they exist, have been in development for years now and could potentially be shown at the Xbox Series X July 23 event. That being said, fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt.

Klobrille’s claims came in the form of short teases where they didn’t explicitly say the games they were talking about all the time, but strongly hinted at them. This includes the long-rumoredFable 4, reportedly being developed by Playground Games, along with aPerfect Darkreboot,Forza Horizonset in Japan,Halo Infinitewith “a really high player-count,” and more.
E3 2018 did see the announcement ofForza Horizon 4, though it was actually set in Great Britain instead of Japan. However, it’s possible that Microsoft has anotherForza Horizongame in development at a studio other thanPlayground Games, especially if that studio is busy working onFable 4. None of the other leaks have been revealed so far either, and some of the information has actually proven to be incorrect, likeCrackdown 3having 4-player co-op.
Klobrille has been a reliable source of Xbox news in the past, though, so perhaps this old leak will get some validation at theXbox Series X July 23 event. All we know for sure is that the event will feature theHalo Infinitecampaign, so fans will need to tune in to see what other surprises Microsoft may have up its sleeve.
