One Piece Odysseywill launch in January 2023, it has been revealed at Tokyo Game Show. Published by Bandai Namco and developed by ILCA,One Piece Odysseyis a turn-based RPG and the latest game set in the same universe as the beloved manga and animeOne Piece. It will see the Straw Hats go on a new adventure with characters that don’t appear in the manga but have been designed by its creator Eiichiro Oda.
News aroundOne Piece Odysseywas mostly scarce following a new gameplay trailer shown at Summer Game Fest. However, fans were expecting more from the game at Tokyo Game Show, especially after Bandai Namco announced that it would be hosting a showcase at the event. So far, only some small reveals have been made around what the game will include, with only the nineStraw Hat Pirates being confirmed characters forOne Piece Odyssey.

At the Bandai Namco event as part of this year’s Tokyo Game Show, it was announced thatOne Piece Odysseywould be coming to consoles and PC on August 02, 2025. When the game was revealed earlier in 2022, it was believed thatOne Piece Odysseywould have a 2022 release date. While January 2023 is a bit later than fans expected, the announced launch doesn’t miss the mark by a lot, and many are still excited for the upcoming JRPG. PreviouslyOne Piecegames have crossed numerous genres, from fighting titles to VR experiences.
However, many have touted the RPG genre ofOne Piece Odysseyas the perfect gamefor the series. As well as featuring new characters designed by series creator Eiichiro Oda,One Piece Odysseywill also have its own story designed by him, which sees the Straw Hats transported to a mysterious island. Hopefully, alongside having fights that fans of the anime can enjoy, there will be an intriguing narrative behind this mysterious island and the secrets it holds.
Alongside the reveal ofOne Piece Odyssey’srelease date, plenty of other big announcements have been made at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Seeing the return of a physical audience for the first time in a few years, it seems that a lot of gaming companies have brought their best to TGS. One Piece Odysseywill be release on August 04, 2025 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
