As ofOverwatch 2Season 5, the health Junker Queen gets from her Commanding Shout ability is being reduced from 200 to 150, and it will take a little longer for her to get her Ultimate ability.Lifeweaver, meanwhile, is getting buffed in Season 5. Specifics will have to wait, but Keller has said that fans can expect buffs for the character’s healing and damage output. Life Grip and Petal Platform will also be getting tweaked, and Lifeweaver is also expected to get “a slightly reduced hitbox.”
The focus of Keller’s blog post was mainly onJunker Queenand Lifeweaver, but it also touched on one-shot characters, specificallyOverwatch 2’s snipers Widowmaker and Hanzo.Overwatch 2has made an effort to remove the ability of characters to one-shot each other, and so starting with Season 5, it will be more difficult for Hanzo and Widowmaker to take out opponents with a single hit. For Widowmaker, she will no longer be able to one-shot 200 health heroes beyond 50 meters. As far as Hanzo goes, he will no longer be able to one-shot 250 health heroes.
It will be interesting to see how theOverwatch 2community reacts to these changes. While some will be happy that they will no longer beblindsided by Hanzoheadshots, others could make the argument that nerfing Hanzo and Widowmaker this way seriously hurts their viability. Blizzard has shown a willingness to adjustOverwatch 2heroes as necessary, so it’s possible that more adjustments will be necessary to get Hanzo and Widowmaker to where they need to be in the game.
Overwatch 2is out now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
