Pokemon Brilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearlhave been available for some time now. Another game,Pokemon Legends: Arceus, has also become the talk of thePokemoncommunity since. Yet new details are seemingly discovered inPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearleach day, as players delve further into the untread corners of the world. Unfortunately, that means that sometimes new glitches are found, too. One recently found glitch may have somePokemonplayers believing they’re stuck.

A video shared by a Reddit user in thePokemoncommunity captures the glitch in action. The player is wandering aroundAmity Square, specifically going to pick up an item hidden away in a corner of the village. This specific reward is around the corner of a stone house down a single-tile path. After the player picks up the item, a Spooky Plate, they turn, only to find theirPokemonblocking the way back out. They appear to be stuck.

In Amity Square, specifically,Pokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlplayers are allowed to have their full team ofPokemonout and follow them around. It doesn’t work with everyPokemon, but there are enough to make it an enjoyable endeavor, plus it helps withcooking Poffins. The problem appears to be thatPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl’s interaction physics doesn’t work quite right.

There are several odd issues visible in this short clip. For one, theTorterraglitches out, perhaps due to falling too far being the player, and despawns. Then, when it respawns, it’s on top of the Happiny. This causes bothPokemonto glitch out in an odd way, forcing them to overlap and prevent the player from backing out. When a player walks against aPokemon, it’s supposed to back up, but since they’re overlapped the physics isn’t allowing any movement.

While this glitch is annoying and probably worrying in the moment, there’s shouldn’t be any real fear of being permanently stuck. If players walk into aPokemonfor more than a couple of seconds, it should despawn. The player didn’t seem to notice this, however, deciding instead to walk back and forth hoping they’d move a bit and create room for them to fit through.

It just goes to show that even relatively simple games like these recentPokemonremakes can have some funkiness tied to certain features. The Pokemon Companyis pumping these games out, after all, with multiple releases every year. Some bugs are sure to slip through, even with The Pokemon Company’s reputation for polish.
