Pokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlhave been hosting a variety of distribution events ever since its release last year that give fans a chance to obtain rare Pokemon. Earlier this year, players couldcatch Shaymin through a special event inPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl, which ran until near the end of March. The next distribution event for fans is quite exciting as well, as players will be gearing up to catch the Pitch-Black Pokemon Darkrai.
Darkrai was announced alongside Arceusin this special event, where players could obtain the special items that will unlock the areas where these Pokemon can be caught. Players can only access these areas if they have completed a certain amount of prerequisites, which both involve completing the main game. More specifically, players need to be both registered into the Hall of Fame and have obtained the National Pokedex. Upon having both of these conditions completed, fans can go to the next step to obtain Darkrai.

To get Darkrai, some other conditions must have been met, such as meeting its Lunar counterpart Cresselia, and completing the post-game Lunar Feather sidequest. Once that is complete, players must get the Member card item which is available throughPokemon BDSP’s Mystery Gift functionin the main menu and choose the option to receive the gift via the Internet.
After all of that is done, players can use the Member card item to enter the Harbor Inn, which will cause the player to fall asleep and travel to Newmoon Island. This is the location where players cancatch Darkrai inPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl. This event will be running for a limited time, where fittingly enough it is taking place between two New Moons. As such, players will have until April 30th to claim the Member card to catch Darkrai.
Much like other legendary or mythical creatures being distributed inPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl, the expiration date for these events give players little time to get these highly coveted Pokemon. WithPokemon ScarletandVioletalso coming out later this year, it’s unclear if there will be more events of this kind to be distributed later down the road forBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl, as priorities shift towards the newer generation. Regardless, fans of Darkrai should obtain this key item now before it’s gone for good, and they lose the chance to catch the shadowy specter.
