ThePokemonTV series and countless animated movies have long been an unmistakably important part of the beloved IP. And now a new entry looks to be added to the list withPokemon Evolutions, a limited series that will begin in just a week.

Pokemon Evolutionswill examine stories in each region from the games but in reverse chronological order from when they were released. This means that even thoughPokemon RedandBluewere the first games and they took place in Kanto, that region will be the last to be explored on the show on June 23, 2025. Meanwhile,Pokemon SwordandShield’s Galarwill be the first. Everyone has theirfavorite region inPokemon, this new show will be an excellent way to discover them in new ways. The exact schedule of the show, including the title of each episode and region, is as follows:
The goal of the series is to provide something that is fresh, but also nostalgic. The vice president of marketing for The Pokemon Company International, Colin Palmer, made that clear in the press release today. Even theupcomingPokemon Legends: Arceusappears to fall within that same line of thinking in terms of bringing a new style of gameplay to the franchise while still remaining firm in what fans love about the core experience.
The trailer itself forPokemon Evolutionsthat came along with today’s reveal is rather breathtaking, as it shows off a high-level anime art style and polish that the standardPokemonTV series never quite received. The series will apparently tell tales of Pokemon and trainers that fans may be somewhat familiar with, but they will be shared from a brand new perspective. This beloved franchise in gaming and pop culture started 25 years ago, so it makes perfect sense to celebrate with a series that will conclude where it all began.
