APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan took inspiration from pastPokemongames and created some sprite artwork of recently-revealed Pokemon that will be featured in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. ThePokemon Scarlet and Violettrainer then posted their work on social media in a short video.
New Pokemon will arrive in both parts of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. Paradox Pokemon Iron Crown and Raging Bolt will be featured in The Indigo Disk, and a newConvergent Pokemon named Poltchageist will be part of The Teal Mask. Given the fact that each of these aforementioned Pokemon was inspired by Pokemon from past generations, this has led to fans and artists making their own takes on Paradox and Convergent Pokemon. However, onePokemonfan decided to dial back toPokemon’s past and created some sprite art of four upcoming Pokemon.

On Reddit, a user named R3dd1t_D4v1d posted a short, 20-second video on the r/pokemon subreddit. In the clip, the OP posted sprites they made of Dipplin, Archaludon, Iron Crown, and Raging Bolt. The sprites were also animated in a style inspired byPokemon Black and White, which has seen a surge in interest following rumors ofa potential newPokemongame that may take place in Unova. The OP also made sure each sprite was animated uniquely. For example, Raging Bolt’s mane spun around its face, and Dipplin’s face peeked out of its apple-shaped body from time to time. In addition, Iron Crown’s raised leg animation was a reference to Cobalion, the Legendary Pokemon that the upcoming Paradox Pokemon is based on.
Though more details about these Pokemon will be revealed once the DLC goes live, fan art of Raging Boltand other new Pokemon has been making the rounds on social media as the release of The Teal Mask DLC draws near. The post from R3dd1t_D4v1d received over 200 upvotes on r/pokemon in the span of a day. In the comments, somePokemonfans praised the OP for remaining faithful to the sprite art style ofPokemon Black and White, and some lamented the fact that The Pokemon Company never made a game with sprites like that afterward.
With artists such as R3dd1t_D4v1d taking inspiration from the sprites featured inPokemon Black and White, demand fora newPokemongame set in Unovaremains strong. Only time will tell if The Pokemon Company will givePokemonfans what they want in that regard.
