ThePokemonfranchise will soon be adding more designs to its universe with the release ofPokemon ScarletandPokemon Violet. Until then, fans still have hundreds of designs to choose from for their playthroughs of older games or inspiration for custom creations. In the latest show of fan-adoration for one of these classic designs, one fan 3D printed the Fire-typePokemonVulpix, with the result of their efforts being a stunning sculpture.
Pokemoncurrently features about 900 different designsthat players can capture and train in the franchise’s games. The focus of this post, Vulpix, was introduced with the Pokemon’s first generation back in the 1990s. 3D printers are a relatively new technology that allow owners to take online designs and recreate them layer by layer, and many gamers have used them to make custom items based on their favorite franchises.

This impressive sculpture comes from u/JayMull420, and it is a solid work of art that anyPokemonfan can appreciate. The post features a small 3D printed version of Vulpix, the first-generationFire-type Pokemon. U/JayMull420 has printed out this small Pokemon sitting back on its rear legs with its six tails curled up behind. Vulpix has its eyes wide open, ears perked up, and its mouth agape, making for an adorable pose and one that fits the Pokemon well. This cute Vulpix shows a bit of the signs of its 3D printing, with different layer lines distinct on its face and around its body, but these do little to hurt its look. The original poster mentions that their girlfriend managed the coloring of this Pokemon, and they matched the reddish and brown colors perfectly.
3D printed sculptures of individual Pokemontend to recreate the original designs quite well, and that holds true here. U/JayMull420 doesn’t mention exactly where they located this design or if it is their original work but, either way, it is an adorable pose for a well-liked Pokemon. The colors and the design should immediately resonate withPokemonfans.
When it comes to thePokemon’s first generation, there are a handful of options for those players looking for a Fire-type Pokemon. Unfortunately, Vulpix is one of theweakest Fire-type Pokemon from this generationand has worse base stats than Growlithe and Ponyta. This makes adding this Pokemon to any player’s team a bit of a hard sell.
Then again, while stats are important, the design of Vulpix is great. Further, its evolution, Ninetales, is a strong option for those interested in pursuing this Pokemon. Either way, this 3D printed sculpture does justice to a memorable design fromPokemon’s first generation.
