Pokemon GOcontinues to be a strong multiplayer game where players engage with each other across the world. Now that it’s Spring the game is receiving new content, likethe April Friendship Day event, for players old and new to enjoy during the season. Soon, more content will be on the way.

A new blog post reveals thatPokemon GOwill feature a Sustainability Week Event in April. The event is part ofPokemon GO’spartnerships with the Niantic Sustainability Campaign, which will include sustainability-related activities and rewards to unlock. The new Sustainability Week Event will start on Tuesday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. and continue until Sunday, April 25 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Pokemon GOwill allow players to earn in-game bonuses by accomplishing various sustainability-related goals in the real world. Players can unlock special tiered rewards in the game by working with players from other Niantic games. The Tier 1 reward is Five-star raids will appear, and requires 2,500 activations. Tier 2 requires 5,000 activations and unlocks a free bundle that comes with threeRemote Raid passesavailable in the shop. The Tier 3 reward requires 10,000 activations and will include a 2x Catch XP Bonus.

To get activations and unlock the three Tier rewards in the game, players will need to complete one of several real-life activities as part of the Niantic Sustainability Campaign. However, the blog post’s link to the list of activities leads to a dead end at the time of writing. Some of the activities included planting a tree or shrub, picking up trash responsibly, using recyclables over disposable products, and learning about local environmental issues. Players should keep an eye out when the link is fixed.

In addition to the new rewards, the Sustainability Week Event will feature the debut of Binacle inPokemon GO. There will also be other Pokemon appearing in the wild: Grimer, Drilbur, Trubbish, Ferroseed, and more. According to the post, some lucky players might even encounter a Shiny Trubbish.

The post also revealed the Pokemon who will be hatching from 5 km Pokemon Eggs: Diglett, Tangela, Goldeen, Budew, Cherubi, Finneon, and Drilbur. On top of that, the Pokemon Vileplume, Alolan Exeggutor, Trubbish, Binacle, and others will be appearing in raids. Players will also be able to completeevent-exclusive Field Researchthat unlocks encounters with Cottonee, Chespin, Binacle, and other Pokemon.

There will be new event-exclusiveTimed Research inPokemon GOduring the time period as well. The Sustainability Week Event will also include a free Sustainability Week avatar t-shirt in thePokemon GOshop.
