Pokemon GO’s latest Community Day is here and players across the world are taking advantage of the event’s unique rewards and bonuses. Today’s Community Day event started at 11:00 am local time and lasts through 5:00 pm, soPokemon GOplayers have 6 total hours to make the most of the day. Today’sPokemon GOCommunity Day is special, since it’s in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why today is a special Community Day: Stay At Home Edition, designed to be fully playable at home.
Thespecial Pokemon for the Community Day is Weedle, the Hairy Bug Pokemon. Weedle is a Pokemon with two different types, Poison and Bug. It’s best known for its weird head, though, which has a big round and pink nose as well as a spike at the crown of its head. For the duration of the event, Weedle will spawn more frequently in the wild. Players should be able to catch it with ease. Niantic also says that players should take some snapshots for a potential surprise.

IfPokemon GOplayers catch enough Weedles, and are able to evolve a Kakuna into a Beedrill either during the event or within two hours after, theBeedrill they receive will get the awesome Drill Run skill. Of course, players should be on the lookout for Shiny Weedle, too. Today’s Community Day event marks the first time that Shiny Weedle, Shiny Kakuna, and Shiny Beedrill will appear inPokemon GO.
For the duration of the event, a bunch of great bonuses will be available toPokemon GOplayers. These bonuses are provided because of theCOVID-19 pandemicto encourage players to stay at home. They include 3x Stardust for catching Pokemon, plus extended Incense usage. All Incense activated during the event, not before or after, will last for an impressive 3 hours. It should make catching Weedles a breeze. Finally, Buddy Pokemon of level Great Buddy or higher will bring players items like Pokeballs all event long.
