As many no doubt know, Iron Hands is a staple in Tera Raids. It may not be as effective asSlowbro against Cinderaceor Azumarill at large, but it’s definitely up there and is a popular Pokemon.
The Paradox form of Hariyama, Iron Hands adopts the Electric subtype in addition to its Fighting-type. Its name and typing make it a fun Pokemon to nickname Will Smith, if only for his actions during the 94th Academy Awards.Will Smith slapped Chris Rockat the show, for which he later resigned his Academy membership and accepted a 10-year ban. Smith has also apologized numerous times, sometimes with it focused on the Academy and others, such as in a YouTube video, to Rock. While Rock has mentioned it in a few comedy shows, it’s uncertain if he and Smith have spoken since the incident. However, the moment sent a shock through Hollywood and resulted in numerous internet memes.

It’s for the memes, not the incident itself, that nicknaming anIron Hands"Will Smith" is funny. Redditor Lunar_Lunacy_Stuff revealed their encounter with this Iron Hands online, thanking whoever as they don’t believe they’ve laughed so long in a lifetime. One of the top comments on the post asked if it was a Rock-type Tera Raid inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, with many fans taking the nickname in stride.
As one would expect of Reddit, this particularPokemon Scarlet and Violetnickname led the OP to ask about other funny nicknames, of which the community hand plenty. One very common example, brought up in the comments, is nicknaming a Bibarel something based on Justin Bieber, like simply “Justin” or “Justin Beaver.” Other funny nicknames include “FEEEEEESH” for a Magikarp, Gyarados, or Dracovish; “Chewsdayinnit” or “Fatalitea” for a Sinistea; “Apple Jack,” “Capri Sun,” or “Jeff Bezos” for Gholdengo;“Obama” or “Obamasnow” for Abomasnow; and so on.
Of course, all of this speaks to the continued creativity of the Pokemon community.
