InPokemon Scarlet & Violet, several pseudo-legendaries from previous games have made their return and are waiting to be caught by players. Trainers aiming to battle competitively may want to be on the lookout for pseudo-legendary Pokemon.
A fan-made category,pseudo-legendaries are powerful Pokemonwith a base stat total 600 that aren’t classified as Legendary Pokemon. One example is Goodra, the final evolution of Dragon-type Goomy. This slug dragon family has made its return inPokemon Scarlet/Violetalong with several pseudo-legendary Pokemon lines, but players may be wondering what makes the Goomy-line so special.

Where To Find Goomy
Goomy can be caught right after trainers get Koraidon/Miraidon, but it’s best to look for itafterstarting the Treasure Hunt. Here’s where to find Goomy inScarlet/Violet:

How To Evolve Goomy & Sliggoo Into Goodra (How to Get Sliggoo & Goodra)
Goomy will evolve into Sliggoo when itreaches level 40.
Once trainers have Sliggoo, it will evolve into Goodra atlevel 50, but only if it’s raining. There isn’t a way to guarantee weather changes inScarlet/Violet, so it’s just a matter of waiting in-game for the weather to change. If players have the Teal Mask DLC, they can travel back and forth between Paldea and Kitakami and evolve Sliggoo in whichever region it’s raining.
Avoid places like Glaseado Mountain (or snowy regions) and Asasdo Desert.These areasneverget rain, so it’ll be impossible to evolve Sliggoo.
Another way to get Sliggoo and Goodra is by transferring from otherPokemongames such asLegends: Arceus,Pokemon GO, orPokemon Shield. Trading with other players is also another method. How to Evolve Goomy into Hisuian Sliggoo & Hisuian Goodra in Scarlet/Violet
If Goomy is evolved inHisui/Legends: Arceus, it will evolve into Hisuian Sliggoo instead. Keep in mind that getting Hisuian Sliggoo means transferring Goomy toLegends: ArceusviaPokemon HOME. Those that want the Hisuian Sliggoo/Goodramustevolve their Goomy or catch Hisuian Sliggoo or Hisuian Goodra inLegends: Arceus. The best place to look is atHolm of Trials or Ancient Quarryin theCrimson Mirelands.
Goomy and Hisuian Sliggoo can spawn duringmassive mass outbreaks, which are also convenient times to evolve Hisuian Sliggoo due to the constant rain.
If trainers want to evolve their own Goomy into Hisuian Sliggoo, they should do the following:
If players are simply catching/evolving Hisuian Sliggoo and Hisuin Goodra, then they’ll only need to deposit it in a Pasture, then complete the move toScarlet/VioletusingPokemon HOME.
Which Goodra is Better? (Is Hisuian Goodra Good?)
Both Goodras are very bulky with a base Special Defense at 150. What separates Hisuian Goodra from regular Goodra is its typing, learnset, and one of their Abilities. Unlike the Kalos Goodra, Hisuian Goodra is a Steel/Dragon-type Pokemon.

There’s no difference in Attack, Special Attack, or Special Defense when comparing Dragon-type Goodra and Steel/Dragon-type Goodra. Unfortunately for the slug dragons,their Speed isn’t that great, with Hisuian Goodra being evenslowerthan regular Goodra. On the plus side, Hisuian Goodra’s bulky Defense and Special Defense means it can take a few hits in battle. It has a low base HP, however, so players will want to keep this in mind if they intend to use Goodra as a tank.
Trainers that use Hisuian Goodra in battle will want a Nature that increases its Defense (or Special Defense). Those using regular Goodra can get away with a Nature that increases its Speed.
The Goodras' moveset consists of physical and special moves, and with its base stats for Attack and Special Attack being 100 and 110 respectively, it’s better to use it as a special attacker. Hisuian Goodra can learn coverage moves with TMs (such as Sludge Bomb), and Goodra can learn Water-type Scald, whereas Hisuian Goodra cannot.

Hisuian Goodra has twice as many type-resistances than regular Goodra with a total of nine. Its Steel-typing also means it can shrug off the Fairy/Ice/Dragon-type weakness that most Dragon-type succumb to in exchange for a weakness to Ground and Fighting-type moves. It also has an immunity to Poison-type moves, barring the opponent doesn’t have an Ability like Corrosion, which makes it susceptible to being poisoned.
Therefore, if players are concerned abouttheir Pokemon having type weaknesses, then they may want to go with Hisuian Goodra.
