Burger King and Sonyhave teamed up in a collaboration event to give lucky consumers a chance to win a PlayStation 5. Any guest who purchases the 2 for $5 deal in the United States will earn a code for a digital token on their receipt that can be used on an in-game slot machine through the BK app.

However, there are rumors that some workers fromBurger Kingwould try to keep the receipt with the digital token code so that they can win the PlayStation 5 themselves. To ease people’s fears, many people from Reddit have come to offer simple solutions to the issue
The event started when aReddituser by the name of AwesomerKing101 made a post about how they had to argue with a Burger King employee who was trying to keep their receipt for themselves. Eventually, the manager had to be called to force the worker to give AwesomerKing101 their receipt back. And even if people are lucky enough to be dealing with an honest employee, there are also instances where users have reported busted receipt printers that leave out the important code information.
AnotherReddit userreplied in the comments that the easiest way to avoid this situation is to order instantly on the app. The customer is given the token directly, and there isn’t any chance that the employee can take the token away from them. A different Reddit user does point out that the only drawback is that users are forced to spend a minimum of $15 on the app, plus or minus taxes and fees. At that point, the customer is overspending by three times the amount of one normal token.
Unless fans are planning on buying three separate orders of the 2 for $5 deal, they are racking up a large amount of money that would probably be better spent on paying for the console itself. At the end of the day, people are allowed to spend their money however they want. Suppose they want to splurge on meals while also playing the BK scratcher game, then more power to them.
