Red Dead Onlinehas released a new update that has added a few new things to do in the game. This may come as a surprise to players, as it was previously revealed thatRed Dead Online’s support was all but coming to a close.

Red Dead Onlineis the online multiplayer component ofRed Dead Redemption 2, and many players have picked it up and played it over the years. Unfortunately, despite it being a newer game thanGrand Theft Auto 5,Red Dead Online’s community has voiced that they feel the game has been largely neglected over the years, seeing less new content and fewer updates coming to the title thanGTA Online.

Every month,Red Dead Onlineissues an update that refreshes a few things in the game and adds bonuses for performing certain tasks and missions. This particular update is actually adding a few new Telegram Missions forRed Dead Onlineplayersto do. The new Hardcore Telegram Missions are In Bad Faith, Strong Medicine, and Sow and Reap, which all task the player with dealing with the 7th Generation Cult. The game has also added some new locations to existing Telegram Missions, which should help to refresh the content somewhat.

New locations are also coming to the game’sShowdown Modes, with players able to join in on Hostile Territory in Annesburg, Fort Mercer, Caliga Hall and Strawberry. Sport of Kings is also adding Lake Don Julio and Cotorra Springs locations. While not as interesting as brand-new content, for players who frequently revisit these Showdown Modes, it should make it a little more interesting.

Rockstar Games previously stated thatRed DeadOnlinewould be receiving so-called “autopilot” content, but nothing major in the future. Presumably, these new additions and adjustments are part of that proposed content. While players who frequent the aforementioned jobs and missions are likely happy to see something a little different to do, it’s unfortunately not the level of content that fans had been hoping the title would get prior to Rockstar’s announcement.

Not long ago,GTA Onlinereleased its Criminal Enterprise update, which left theRed Dead Onlinecommunity feeling even more slighted. However, Rockstar Games may actually be gradually moving on from both titles. A message posted by Rockstar thanking everyone involved in the development ofGTA 5andGTA Onlinemay hint at the focus of the company moving on to GTA 6 and its inevitable online component. For now, the future ofGTA Onlineupdates is uncertain, butRed Dead Onlineplayers likely won’t see any further updates beyond the scope of this one going forward.

Red Dead Onlineis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
