Riot Games has released a newValoranttrailer for a character named Sage. The developer has released several other character trailers for its new competitive multiplayer shooter asViper, a character who can poison enemies, is another who got their own video.

On Twitter, Riot has posted a short video showing the abilities of Sage, aValorantcharacter who comes from China. Sage is a support character and her tagline is “let them try to get through me” suggesting that she can stop enemy attacks as well as help out her allied teammates.

One of her support abilities is her Healing Orb which can heal herself or an ally to full health over a few seconds. Sage also has a Slowing Orb which hits the ground and slows any enemies caught in it. Enemies will also make noise when moving, making it easier for Sage and her teammates to take them out. Anyone whomains Moira inOverwatchand uses her orbs to heal and deal damage will likely enjoy playing as Sage inValorant.

Sage’s two other abilities may also be compared toOverwatchcharacters. The character’s Barrier Orb ability allows her to send out an orb which then creates a huge wall. On social media several gamers have said that it looks likeMei’s Ice Wall inOverwatch. Sage and Mei are also Chinese. Designing a Chinese character with a wall creating ability isn’t an original idea as the country’s most famous tourist attraction is the Great Wall of China, but some are criticizing Riot for the decision.

There is also an ability called Resurrection which allows Sage to revive a teammate with full health.Overwatchhas the healer character Mercy and she has a resurrection ability, but it’s unclear how much it looks like Sage’s resurrections inValorantas this isn’t shown in the new trailer.

Several ofValorant’s characters have been compared toOverwatchas some fans also said thatSova’s Recon Boltlooks like Hanzo’s Sonic Arrow. Some gamers aren’t glad that Riot hasn’t been able to show them much that’s original but others seem to like that they’ll know how to use these abilities onceValoranthas been released.

Riot could potentially change things before release and the developer has confirmed that there will be aValorantbeta. The developer hasn’t announced a date for this beta but as it keeps releasing trailers for the game and confirminginformation about its playable charactersit does seem like more information is about to be revealed.
